Poker Flat Recordings welcomes back the ever-prolific Alex Niggemann for another speaker-troubling dispatch. This time out, the Aoen and Soulfooled boss drops a hea- vy–duty release that more than lives up to his usual high standards.
'Materium' is epic in every sense of the word- a sprawling, tough journey into analog tech- no – with a dash of house thrown in. It rips through the speakers – the crisp and aggres- sive production provides the space for grow- ling synths and atmospheric, tense pads. What’s more, the whole track audaciously dissolves into silence mid way through – be- fore exploding back into life via a descending analog synth line.

The Italian-born, Germany based artist is highly regarded for his distinctive style and musical depth.  Releases on Einmusika, Click Records and his own Incroyable imprint have been praised by his contemporaries with Maceo Plex, Joris Voorn and Hot Since 82 all playlisting his music.

microCastle’s masterstroke has been to engage Love over Entropy to repattern ‘Ortygia’. Motivated by the ideology of early Detroit pioneers and experimental IDM, his musical creations are renowned for being hypnotic and atmospheric, with a tender touch, juxtaposing an obsessive attention to detail with space, chaos and chance. As a result the Dutch artist has found a home on taste-maker labels such as Something Happening Somewhere, Lossless and Atomnation. Here he builds a deeply brooding, melodic, percussive masterpiece, and the resultant tension is palpable as his re-imagining of ‘Ortygia’ sparks with eruptive bursts of fizzing energy. A stunning remix on every level, and it is no wonder that he is beloved by such heavyweights as Dixon, Mano Le Tough, Âme and Laurent Garnier.

Frankey & Sandrino’s label Sum Over Histories is an admitted passion for quantum mechanics.

'Virgo EP' is a multidimensional stimulation, an incentive to travel off the beaten track.  In 'Solaris', we could hear each possible note, as synths twirl, sirens swivel, reverberations denote. The end of the first chapter is coming, this 5th opus closes off the first year for REBA. The 3 tracks that compose this release are, like the previous ones, close to my heart. "Flight to the void" introduces this chapter. Like a voluntary fall into the universe, a space trip with no return. "Winterisation" brings a more mental touch to this EP while "Blast Off" is more personal and intimate. As usual, a lot of love and a bit of grass went into the making of this EP.
