Pete Oak returns to SVT with a three piece EP chock full of murky melodies and introspective compositions. Kicking off the endeavor with Celsius, Oak reveals his penchant for soulful and emotive soundscapes early on. The first track unfolds as a slow paced ascending piece, ridden with scintillating bits and synths subtly winding up the entire groove. The outcome is a tense dancefloor cut with a spectral, ethereal appeal. Noctua takes off full energy from the get go, setting a gloomy mood by layering dense synths over a punchy bassline. Berlin-based Electro/Pop duo Yeah But No announce the release of the latest addition to "Demons Remixes", a series of carefully chosen remixes accompanying their sophomore album "Demons".

Yeah But No is comprised of Douglas Greed and Fabian Kuss. Merging electronic music with classic song structures into a smart and captivating listening enjoyment is the band's objective ever since they started collaborating. 

Being on the road constantly, Yeah But No have shaped and redefined their musical vision of the band. Dealing with inner and outer conflicts and contrarieties, "Demons" is a slightly darker and more mature piece of music than the bands previous releases. 

Following the two marvelous works by Mollono.Bass and Andreas Henneberg, now Berlin/Rotterdam-based DJ, producer and owner of House/Techno-label AEON, Alex Niggemann, gets involved. He transfers the bands recent Single "Run Run Run" into a dark and hypnotising Melodic House track.

Fur Coat’s Oddity label starts 2021 with a fresh edition of the acclaimed various artists “Odd Echoes Vol.4”. This instalment showcases some artists that are already known to the label, as well as many new additions to the family.

Fur Coat’s commitment to their label over the last few years has seen the imprint amass a dedicated following and an ever growing list of respected and lauded releases. Utilising their Various Artists compilations, the duo have unearthed some extremely exciting talent in this world and given emerging artists a platform to exhibit their craft.

Diving into the package we are greeted with the melodic and emotional sounds that Oddity has their recognisable stamp. Its clear though that each artist involved has developed their own signature sound and presents something unique to the VA. The first half is formed of well crafted tracks which ease us into the sound. Tracks the build and develop over time and help to kick start out musical exploration.

In true Oddity style the second half of the package leans towards darker and more driving pieces. Casting the listeners mind to the dancefloors which the tracks were meant to be played on. Its a VA formed of 21 original tracks mostly from first timers on the label, that all together solidify the identity of the series and sound of Oddity.

‘We Survive’ follows on from the Beatport #1 ‘Cultum’ by Mia Mendi and Thomas Gandey which set the label off on a hit opening.

This solo release from the enigmatic producer evokes a futurists take on the new world’s dancefloors - a mysterious yet warming dystopian tale ‘We Survive’ was initially conceived as a live studio video and has developed into somewhat of an anthem, already having been performed and perfected live by Thomas around the globe.

To complement the Original Mix, Gandey also offers a Club Mix which carries the torch deeper for peak time listening. The release draws to a close with a twisted psychedelic break remix from Innervisions stalwart Alex Medina.
