Every musician has his technics when we have a lack of inspiration. Personally, I always thought that music comes from silence, so when I can't make any music, I find a quiet place, sit down, and wait for the music to come to me. I did that once, in my garden, and then those tiny bells appeared. When I heard it perfectly, I ran to my studio to write it down. It reminded me of a snowflake's purity by his sonority, and it's way to dance with the wind by his groove. "Flocon de Neige" was born… I hope you will like it !"

Recorded live on Saturday afternoon at our Desert Hearts Spring Festival 2016. About a week before this past Desert Hearts, I had the most incredible party session ever at Space Miami during a Marco Carola marathon set. It was tech house perfection in all it's glory and I became so fired up to play in that style at DH. I wanted to beat up the dance floor during this set... in a nice way! Then Papa Lee Reynolds came and joined me for a little b2b during the last 30 minutes and he's pretty good at beating up dance floors too.  Desert Hearts is truly my favorite place to play in the universe and I hope you have as much fun listening as I did playing for you. House, Techno, & Love... We Are All Desert Hearts. <3

BBC Essential Mix 23/9/2017 - clean version

I like nature and music and I like deep dives into the depths of my own mind.

It’s becoming more and more obvious that my mind is really busy - way too busy. It is always exposed - constantly receiving and absorbing, processing and changing.

I have therefore become more cautious of what I want to let into consciousness and taking regular breaks from the endless stream of stimuli and simply paying close attention to my mind has helped me pierce through the spellbinding clutter of unstoppable thoughts. To me, what reveals itself on the other side is a profound state of
calm. A calm from which natural curiosity, playfulness and love can spring freely.

Music is a channel where I express this natural playfulness that I believe we all share deep inside. Playing my music on top of the Robot Heart bus at their ten year anniversary was one of those precious moments where I felt you were responding to this - we were playing together.

When you express a similar joy and playfulness to that which I create the music with we set a beautiful feedback loop into motion. Getting eye contact with you and seeing how me and my wobbly harmonica notes crack you up into a big smile affects me and really fires me up. 

Your response inspires me to create more and feel more and
express myself more. 

I would like to send a big fat virtual hug to everyone who rode their bikes deep out into the playa that morning and to Robot Heart for  making me part of the family.

Sol Selectas welcomes Dj duo and twin brothers Thankyou City from Melbourne, Australia with their remarkable release “Analogue Odyssey”. Utilizing analogue gear and dusty vinyl samples, the duo processed many of the recordings through an old Revox A77 Tape machine, creating a warm pure sound. The title track is a slow drifter, building and building as we travel further into the depths of the unknown. Subtle guitar riffs swirl around a deep groove, and vocal whispers enter from all sides while the crunchy analog synths playfully guide the journey. “Resend”  takes us on a galactic ride through space, and lands us back onto planet earth, the final mission to arrive back at our roots. “There is a sense of hope and positivity we feel injected into this story, as if  you've been on an odyssey for what feels like a lifetime. And now you're coming home, back to the world you know, and you're in the final moments of reentry before you break on through to the world you love. “

For the remix of “Analogue Odyssey” we welcome another dynamic duo, Audiofly, who join the label for the first time. As pioneers in the underground music scene for over a decade, they knew exactly how to transform the track into their own transmission, while maintaining the deep hypnotic groove.  A mysterious vocal sample explains perfectly the ideas of space, time, and music, while lush keys float over the top of an infectious bass line, and a powerful analogue synth orbits the rhythmic elements of the songs’ climax. 

For the remix of “Resend” we invited long time friend and Los Angeles local Jon Charnis. He created a beautiful psychedelic trip with his pitched down interpretation. Intricate percussion programming through out, and expanding melodic elements carry us all the way back to our home planet. 

The artwork by Helia Jamali gives us a glimpse to the golden treasures of Analogue Odyssey.

When I was invited to perform at the Rainbow Serpent Festival I confess I did not know what to expect. What's more, this was my first international festival. I went to Australia without expectations, precisely because of this ingenuity of not knowing what was waiting for me on the other side of the world. But when I stepped on the festival grounds I was sure it would be unique and special in my life. It was 4 days of pure immersion in art, music, knowledge exchanges, listening to good music on all the stages, meeting new and fresh artists that I had never heard about before. Since I was going to perform on the last day of the festival, I had plenty of time to absorb the energy of the place, the energy of the people, the community concept behind it all… I could think of exactly what kind of music I would like to deliver to these people. These people deserved to float on beautiful timbres, to release their souls driven by melodies and elevated feelings. I chose my favorite songs to do this. And I sincerely hope they were as happy as I was in these two hours of music.
