Famed poetess/songwriter/photographer Ingrid Chavez known for her ethereal poetry and spoken word over music continues to explore unique sounds and genres 27 years after her debut album was released on Paisley Park Records.  

Black Eskimo
Black Eskimo, New Hampshire based duo Ingrid Chavez and Marco Valentin, combine the gritty urban beats of Chicago house with ethereal poetry. 

The result is a hypnotic hybrid of deep & heady tales that fuse the duo's 
influences, from Soul, and Hip Hop to House, Electronica, and Spoken Word.

The synthesis parallels the convergence of two artists’ lives. Chavez is no stranger to pop music or collaborations. Previously, she recorded and penned the lyrics on "Justify My Love" with Lenny Kravitz-a song made famous by Madonna; starred as lead actress in Prince's 'Graffiti Bridge', appearing on 1987's Lovesexy album as the Spirit Child, released her debut album 'May 19, 1992' though Paisley Park Records; and collaborate on projects with David Sylvian. 

Marco Valentin-a self taught producer who took an innovative route to becoming a musician. As a teenager growing up on the south side of Chicago, Valentin had originally set out to be a solo hip hop artist, but he didn’t have any beats so he got crafty, lifting loops off Wu Tang and Mobb Deep records using an old Karaoke machine. The results were choppy but he liked what he heard and kept working, expanding his sonic palette beyond childhood favorites like ‘90s Hip Hop and Fania Allstars and the legendary Felix da Housecat to include everything from international ‘60s and 70s underground music to classic rock.

Troln´s medlemmer er alle kendinge på den københavnske musikscene. Lyden er filmisk, mørk, vuggende, nænsom, af og til med et faretruende jag. Som et kig ind i Lynchs sureelle univers, en mørk drøm med et håb om lys og uskyld. Den sorte skov og den neonbelyste by er begge tilstede I de stemningsfulde kompositioner – et sted mellem white lodge og black lodge – for at bruge en meget passende David Lynch reference. En koncert med Troln er som en rejse over et faretruende smukt mørkt hav, med Velvet Underground og Portishead som blinde passagerer og Nick Cave som kaptajn.
