A special mix from one of the minds behind our third record, so welcome on board @jacopolatini .

Jacopo also known as Jackie, is the co-founder of Taboo Traxx. Now based in Berlin, he continues to hone his profound sound with many releases last year and a lot of new projects coming out in 2021.
He can frequently be found playing his extensive artillery of records at various locations in his native country, or the new city he calls home. Growing up in Bologna played a pivotal role in Jackie's acquired taste in music, surrounded by the surgence of deep house in Italy, he managed to absorb the deep and emotive sound. Something which he is now able to interpret and reflect within his own productions, however maintaining a modern, yet still moving twist.
He has found his element in recent times in the German capital, surrounding himself with creative artists where he can bounce his positive energy and ideas, introducing his personal workflow, whilst simultaneously learning from others. Jacopo sets his sights firmly on a year of pushing his productions, via his own Taboo imprint, and already in the pipeline of Mood Waves.

Originally hailing from South Texas he has been steadily building up his following both in the US and abroad with more and more frequent tours across the atlantic playing in some of Europes most iconic venues and parties continuing what he does best and bringing that sweet and warm chocolate vibe to the to the dance-floors across the world.

LOWMONEYMUSICMIX - 28 - CHKLTE

Born in Morocco, based in Barcelona Monile has become a bit of a fixture in her adopted scene. A regular at new high end audio club Les Enfants Brillants, she has starred alongside many of the visiting dignitaries as well as their huge NYE event. She has also turned out for Yoyaku at their huge label showcase at La Machin Du Moulin Rouge only last week.

Monile is also a community player and having also appeared on digital premiere playlists with her addition to Maai Records recent VA her mix of pitch black synth work, moody pads and percussive drums worked a treat. She also contributed to the first release from home boys chez.choc. It is however, her mixing skills that we are most interested as she makes her mix debut for our InSession series. This 75 minute ride will perfectly encapsulate the all in ethos at the heart of Monile. House, electro, techno, minimal and acid all have parts to play here.

The Shelter walls have heard some pretty outstanding music over the past year and, while we know that you can’t quite re-create the magic we all experience on the night, some sets are just too good not to share. We’ve dug through our archives, and thought long and hard about the perfect pick to get this series off the ground. Trust us, this was not an easy choice. 

Who better to get the ball rolling than our brilliant resident, a pivotal figure of the Amsterdam underground and a staple of house music’s current international scene, Reiss. This set of his during VBX at Shelter, in November last year, had us all in awe.

DOWN THE HATCH 001 - Reiss | VBX x Shelter 25-11-2022

It’s safe to say that Resolute is to New York what Secretsundaze and Half Baked are to London, Sash! is to Sydney and the likes of Sunrise are to Romania. In onther words, it’s a party that’s very much at the heart of its country’s electronic music scene. And at the heart of any great party is its residents. Maksim (real name Maxim) is a Russian DJ/producer who’s been a key part of the Resolute party and a resident since 2013. 

Known for his groovy and infectious sets (that clearly, reflect his playful nature), he found music in his teenage years and is truly someone who’s worked his way up: he even worked as a lighting guy before turning his hand to DJing. It was in Brooklyn where he’s found his calling, impressing the Resolute crew and securing a residency that would lead him on a whole new lifepath. As we’re such fans, we decided to invite the man himself back for another mix. And this one's another cracker!
