We R The Aliens offers up the second edition of its various artist series this June, featuring music from the Boronas & Snad, Mountain People, Nesta and Baertaub.

Following up on Ohm Hourani’s infectious single “Barbara” which included a remix from Ricardo Villalobos and Amir Javasoul, We R The Aliens is happy to present its fifth release this June with another all-star cast: Boronas & Snad, Bärtaub, Mountain People and Nesta. Founded in Germany in 2019 by Jakob Seidensticker, MELINA, Boronas and Snad, the We R The Aliens imprint has been slowly churning out heady releases for those in the know over the past five years with music from the likes of Markus Sommer, Katie Drover, Chklte, Smallpeople and more.

Boronas & Snad set the tone with ‘Affliction,’ laden with haunting synth work, rolling MPC percussion, meticulous backspins and mind bending delays, all dynamically unfolding across the track’s seven and a half minute duration – now that’s some bang for your buck. Fresh off an outing for Yoyaku’s main label, Istanbul duo Bärtaub are up next with ‘Orbit The Dance Planet.’ The boys give a strong nod to the 90s and the cult E-MU rompler of the same name in their track which fuses bumpy breaks and robotic voices with ghostly chords, a snaking bass groove and of course, one- shots from the beloved machine.

On the flip side, widely beloved Swiss artist Mountain People offers up ‘I Am The Void,’ featuring the producer’s signature shuffled drum grooves and soft chord sequences intertwined with murky, dubbed out stabs. Beirut’s Nesta then rounds out the release with ‘Tarte Citron’, a thwacking b-side reminiscent of golden-age tech house from the late 90s, this number is fuelled by crisp percussion, acid tinged bass, airy synth flutters, swelling sub bass tones and a catchy vocal hook.

After receiving so much love for their first Various Artists (WRTA002), the aliens are back for more; don’t sleep!

Rokah debuts in big fashion with Rozin & Kahru pairing up to create 5 tracks that capture from joy to nostalgia, and display an original aesthetic. The label from Berlin kicks off strong with an EP for the sunny summer days.
