Up next in Mr. Banger's delicious release catalogue is Ukrainian artist and Laconica label-head Alex Peruvkhin, who delivers an immense firework of Electronic music for his label debut influenced and shaped by the events in his home-country during the still on-going war. The EP opener TYSK Problem is a heavily break-esque and rave-infused "banger" with funky nuances and spaced-out chords in the second part of the track. Thereby the description of the track that it was finished under high pressure during the war TYSK Problem manages to capture these brutal and stressful feelings in its sound-arrangement quite formidable.

Through their music curation work at One Eye Witness, co-founder Hylke has been silently influencing the sounds that resonate in clubs and underground dance music record collections around the world.

His newly created label Spectral Bounce takes it one step deeper, providing a platform for music imbued with eerie grooves and subtly expressive energy, capturing the listener right at their core.

SPEC01 - Force of Nature - Is the fruit of the long-standing musical relationship and shared visions of producer and Selector RDS (@0rds0) and Spectral Bounce, the perfect catalogue opener.

Over four moody club-ready tracks, RDS dives into the sound of the after-hours, where minds are freed and darker energies are expressed. Both sides display perfectly controlled acid synthesis, heart-grabbing bass lines, cut-through drum sampling and an extremely textured and gritty mix. RDS' musical influences are clearly felt, harmoniously fusing UK 90s bleep techno, spacey tech house and dub with his own emotional perspective to club music.

The Dutch producer's distinct dance floor sound is here captured in its essence, processed through his expressive electronic machines while controlling tempo and energy in a unique manner. This EP is a sonic statement, offering the listener the Spectral Bounce sound.

Last month the electronic music community raised a glass in celebration of  Luke Solomon and Justin Harris announcing the grand return of their beloved Music For Freaks imprint.

The pair have always been musical soul-mates, and following the release of Psych!, their first album in 11 years in 2014, Luke and Justin felt the time was right to return to the place that made them who they were throughout the '90s and '00s.

“The label was always about trying to do something different when the mainstream of house was getting a bit 'samey'. There's so much 'noise' in the industry at the moment and a lot of it sounds exactly the same,” explained Justin. To counter this, the duo plan to round up current producers who they believe truly understand the label's ethos, and "let them loose on tracks old and new."

Thus Music For Freaks returns with an EP from the vaults, featuring remixes by Ricardo Villalobos and Tuff City Kids, and already has work in the pipeline from the likes of Soul Clap, Argy and Mat Playford, Krysko, Honey Dijon, The Martinez Brothers, Wolf & Lamb and Djebali. “There’s some brilliant lost tapes amongst them ready to be reworked,” says Justin. “Music for Freaks and Freaks have always had a timeless feel to their music and for newly relevant and hugely established artists to get on board with us for the relaunch has been a wonderful testament to that.”

Excited about their return we've hooked up with Luke and Justin to premiere the '1999' edit of their Freaks track 'Instrument' ahead of its September 25th release as part of the Let's Do It Again, Pt. 1 EP. Check it out now.
