New imprint Planet Orange Records delivers its first offering with a 12” vinyl only release that embodies the much loved early electronic sound whilst still pushing more modern styles and genres the label thrives on, This EP from four artists offers up eclectic and varied cuts of slick electronic music. 

The A side of this four-track EP offers two playful but effective dancefloor tracks that offers influences of the deeper, groovy house end of the electronic spectrum. The B-side follows up with two deeper, electro inspired tracks that takes the listener on a darker, euphoric journey whilst remaining complimentary to the styles that define Planet Orange Records.

4 Heaters courtesy from Bruno Schmidt's Domesticated imprint, just in time to see some dancefloors again. A side has a retro feel; Sohrab opens up the VA with Miami Vice reminiscent "Mnemonic". Juxtaposing styles and influences, it has all the ingredients to see more than its fair share of summer terrace action. Levat delivers a steppy electro-boogie jam on the inner side, with delicious drum processing. B1 courtesy of Omar is a skippy, spooky workout, and the B2 from Ukrainian Sasha Zlykh for more melancholic afterhours mood rounds off the VA in solid fashion. Something for everybody on here.

A1 Sohrab - Mnemonic (Domesticated005)

ONE049 is another in a series of VA releases on the label featuring Yamen & Eda, Leeds based Mariiin, Ciel, NorthSouth owner Sam Bangura, Duowe & Picasso, and Subb-an himself. 

Montpelier based duo Yamen & EDA are no strangers to the label. They make their return with 'Cut The Cheese' - a combination of tight drums, Detroit-tinged synths and a circling organ bass. 

Mariiin then follows up with a kinetic tool evincing her skills as a seasoned and well respected DJ. Tumbling breaks are pinned by a 4/4 kick while interweaving sweeps and filters recall the atmosphere of some of the Swag classics. 

London favourite Sam Bangura then follows on from his recent solo EP on Albeit Records with a sharp, Minimal groove that will slot nicely into his own sets as trippy, dissected vocals...
