If you’ve ever encountered that feeling of being hit by some raw, booming, harsh energy that grounded you in the present moment, chances are you’ve crossed paths with one of Funk E’s sounds. After having him on our radar for since ever, we're very pleased to have one of the true Romanian veterans on board, as Laurentiu finally joins our mix series with an exclusive 1-hour mix. His eclectic and particular style fuses the microhouse vibrations from his hometown with an easy-to-dance-to approach that he's probably inherited on Ibiza, absorbing sounds and aromas from the unique White Island. With releases on labels such as Adult Only, Raum…musik, Pleasure Zone, and The Rabbit Hole to name a few, Funk E's productions got into every DJ bag (or USB stick), and founding his label Great Empty Circle in 2015 was just a matter of time, reserving this last exclusively for his tunes, also under Bhikkhu and Marvin Gain aliases.

Greuceanu started listening to Minimal at the early age of 15 years old.

In Bucharest, the Minimal movement was growing rapidly and the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Raresh, Priku, Pedro, Suciu, Livio & Roby, and many others inspired him. He started going to Clubs Like Kristal Glam Club and Studio Martin, or Traian 42(Guesthouse). These places, together with Sunwaves festival represent the starting of his musical journey through discovering the real art of mixing these minimal grooves from the likes of Rhadoo, Pedro, Cezar, and many others that inspired him to go down this path.

Greuceanu started learning electronic music production around 8-9 years ago. He started DJ-Ing after about 5 years of producing.

You would often see him play in London's Underground parties but also in Romania, Bucharest and is a recurring face behind the decks having played for Intothewoods, PleasureRoom, Vox, Paravibe, Made in Romanyeah, amongst other underground parties and shared the decks with artists like Cap, Bryz, Triptil, Vlad Arapasu, Olivian Nour, Richy Ahmed, Ted Amber, and others.

French trio of artists Triad have made the bustling city of Barcleona their base and have ensured their stamp is engrained into the fabric of the scene there. From this hotbed of musical influences, No Replay, Pedro Bucarelli and Zakov project a collaborative approach to music whether that be in the studio, running their label Slice Music or throwing their excellent Watermelon parties. There is little that this team of selectors are not capable of.

It is however their undoubted skills as DJ’s that we are here to big up today. In a similar vein to Mandar, RPR, Apollonia their schtick is a strictly one on / one off rule. Their b2b2b sets are all encompassing, from deep and driving, breaky and squelchy to the outright dreamy Triad prove that three is indeed the magic number. For their addition to our Insession series we catch them during a live recording of their set at the stunningly crafted Les Enfants Brillants club in Barcelona. It is clear that they are on their own patch they weave their way through a myriad of micro genres and moods.
