We finish our Live at Dimensions 2022 series with something truly special - a live mix from Raresh’s closing set last year. 

Those who know one of Romania's finest DJ's will appreciate how much of a rarity this is, with only a handful of his mixes online over the past three decades.

In the best period of his career, DPR has lived the culture of DJing intensely for over a decade, focusing most of his time on locating the best and most hidden gems, ranging from rare records to surprising discoveries that surpass barriers of time and style. As one of the great highlights of Boiler Room and the Trommel Music platform in 2022, the artist is able to transform a dance floor into a great sound cauldron at the boiling point, surprising listeners with each track.

The one and only Shonky is behind the wheels for DIM 298. The Parisian’s first podcast in several years, recorded at his Berlin home, balances house of all shades and techier stylings with aplomb, a backbone of groove running through 80 refined and classy minutes. Sit back and enjoy.

Having now over 2 decades in the game, legend is a perfect description for Mr. G aka Colin McBean. His vast contribution to dance music is the example of a real artist and his unique vibe has carved the memories of ravers throughout the years.

Initially in the 90s, Mr. G was part of different aliases producing revolutionary music and touring the decks around the world with astyle of techno before starting his career on his own. By the end of the decade, Colin foundates his label Pheonix G pioneering a brand of eltronic tech-funk that rapidly attracted attention.

His exceptional talent and innovation quickly released on acclaimed labels like Defected, Duty Free and more, while also remixing and collaborating with world-class artists from the underground. In the following years, Mr. G consolidates as an idol of the industry and releases some of his most marvellous music under the Rekids label, receiving praise by the top critics.

In the present, Mr. G continues with a fierce passion for music, making people dance around the world with energetic performances and a share of love that no other DJtransmits. Few artists have been able to fill people's heart like Mr. G has done through his career.

Federico Benedetti aka Onirik is a bit of a renaissance man, he is a DJ, an accomplished one at that, he is an artist, quite a good one with releases on Garage Hermétique, Off The Grid and Dopium Tribe. He also happens to have his own record label, a rather good one too, it's called Garage Hermétique, you will likely have heard of it. It is impossible to discuss Romanian artist Vlad Caia and not mention Amphia, SIT, and Amorf. All these different entities are intrinsically linked, but they most certainly do not define Vlad. Like his aforementioned brothers, Vlad is an accomplished solo artist and his critically received long players on Amphia are a mainstay in any discerning Ro lover collection. The demure appearance of Romanian artist Praslea belies his deep involvement in the music industry. With his name appearing on top events, especially in his home town of Bucharest, circa 2007, Florin Cunțan is a certified don of our scene. Having been inducted into the [a:pia:r] clique from an early age his “Jurnal De Bord” EP way back in 2009 he has hardly been prolific, but this is not where his real talent lies. With his solo credentials above reproach, it is par for the course for Praslea and his peers to perform together even at the biggest of events. So, it is hardly surprising that two artists from this family should join forces on the regular and that partnership is Praslesh. Not wishing to over comment on this duo, this does, however, go some way to explain the level of skill that Florin commands. Few artists command the legacy that Italian artist Alex Picone has at his disposal. Having long since relocated to Barcelona, Alex is perhaps one of the busiest men in the business. Between running Small Black Dots, both record store and distribution arm, he also runs the interconnected seekers label and series of parties, and then there is also the artist. Alex is a regular face on the touring circuit and should be sought out whenever his name appears on a lineup near you. His sheer experience in the game is worthy alone of the many plaudits he receives, but it is his tenacity and willingness to keep striving for the sonic audience. [continue reading at...
