Arno & Cap deliver the first edition of our new B2B series, culminating in more than two hours of rousing sound.

The two are familiar faces in the minimal clubbing scene and have both DJed in many well-known clubs over the past decade. It was an obvious choice to bring the two together for a night of clubbing, as their effortless chemistry and easy-going attitude propagated in the entire room. They get music, and they get digging even more.

The mix was recorded in early September '21 at our new venue and captures the energy and excitement of the dance floor, the experience, and the dancers of that night. It pumps from the get-go and is sure to thaw you out throughout the chilly month of February. 

Roaming the genres with a light-hearted attitude and a clear vision of fun, the set is full of unexpected twists to throttling bass, spiraling synths, cheeky drums and break corners that are bursting with passion, vibrancy, and magic. 

No less can be said about their podcast, which drifts unconventionally through styles, eras, tempos, and moods. Sehr lustig!

The last time we spoke to Herodot, the Romanian was walking us through the labyrinthine Sunrise Hub that he painstakingly helped to create from the ground up. Incredibly, that was 2019 and a hell of a lot has happened in that time. Above all else there has been an unreal amount of gigs for one of Sunrise’s silent assassins. A clear favourite in his home country he regularly drops science at the likes of Sunwaves, Electric Castle, as well as venturing further afield to the likes of Air House in South Korea, Club De Visionaere in Berlin and Fabrika in Tunisia. It is impossible to discuss Romanian artist Vlad Caia and not mention Amphia, SIT, and Amorf. All these different entities are intrinsically linked, but they most certainly do not define Vlad. Like his aforementioned brothers, Vlad is an accomplished solo artist and his critically received long players on Amphia are a mainstay in any discerning Ro lover collection. Most underground movements in the arts can be boiled down to one key ingredient: friends doing dope shit together. Childhood BFFs Luca Medici and Delbert Perez have been doing just that with INVT (that's "innovate"), a multidisciplinary art project that spans club music and streetwear. Before exploding onto the international stage and playing to massive crowds in Ibiza and Tulum, the Miami natives built a solid community at home through electrifying DJ sets, releases and fashion. They might be globe-trotting artists now, going back-to-back with artists like Skream and playing Panorama Bar, but their raw DIY spirit stays strong.

Their tunes and live hardware shows fuse jungle, techno, East Coast club and dubstep—and lately, tech house and tribal house—with bass-heavy Latin genres like cumbia and guaracha. A reflection of Miami's diverse demographics, their genre cross-pollinations bring together skaters, dancers, artists and various subcultures. Their clothing lines are equally cross-cultural: repurposed vintage items made from screen printing and acid washing, using photos and designs that represent their home city's vibrant street culture. True to their grassroots ethos, everything's done in-house, from mixing and mastering tracks to embroidery.

The next-gen duo's ultra-rhythmic productions, characterised by deep, swinging drums and trippy textures, is delivered to the world at a rapid-fire pace, testament to Medici and Perez's seemingly insatiable hunger. Their explosive career has helped bring fresh shine to Miami talents who feature heavily in their sets, including this RA Podcast. Featuring DJ Babatr, Coffintexts and plenty of their own unreleased heaters, INVT's mix represents their friendships, community and Miami's thrilling melting pot of dance music that they're still a core part of even as they move across the globe.

The demure appearance of Romanian artist Praslea belies his deep involvement in the music industry. With his name appearing on top events, especially in his home town of Bucharest, circa 2007, Florin Cunțan is a certified don of our scene. Having been inducted into the [a:pia:r] clique from an early age his “Jurnal De Bord” EP way back in 2009 he has hardly been prolific, but this is not where his real talent lies. With his solo credentials above reproach, it is par for the course for Praslea and his peers to perform together even at the biggest of events. So, it is hardly surprising that two artists from this family should join forces on the regular and that partnership is Praslesh.
