In the best period of his career, DPR has lived the culture of DJing intensely for over a decade, focusing most of his time on locating the best and most hidden gems, ranging from rare records to surprising discoveries that surpass barriers of time and style. As one of the great highlights of Boiler Room and the Trommel Music platform in 2022, the artist is able to transform a dance floor into a great sound cauldron at the boiling point, surprising listeners with each track.

Emerging from the Romanian scene back around ten years ago as an accomplished DJ and producer, Bucharest's Funk E has been on a circuitous path since then, taking in gigs all over the globe as well as a residency at Underground in Ibiza. 

Despite releasing on a number of prominent labels, he's always kept a pretty small footprint; focusing on quality rather than pumping out a stream of tracks and mixes.  This one is no different and hints at an artist who's been steadily refining their craft.  In it you can hear the evolution of his sound; clearly with one foot in the Romanian landscape in which he cut his teeth but possessing an uncommon sophistication and depth.

It would seem that there was something in the water in Italy during the tail end of the 70s and the beginning of the 80s. We recently highlighted this via our recent Free Download artist, but another Italian artist who is just as influential is Francesco Farfa. Incredibly, he was already a working DJ by the early 80s and that was before the age of electronic music. This just meant when the advent of drum machines dawned across the music spectrum Francesco was already armed to the teeth with skills honed playing funk and disco when early proto-house began filtering through to Europe. This is a live recording from Jigit (Resolute) in NYC, the infamous long party at h0l0. It was the first time this live was performed and it keeps getting better and better, as they do, through each performance, a never ending quest for perfection even though that perfection are the imperfections, the spontaneous improvisations along the way.

Highly regarded as a versatile and talented artist , not only in his home country Chile but the world out. A career spanning 20+ years, his ties to some of the most integral and quality musicians and industry wide individuals easily exposes which side he is on. 

Felipe comes from a pool of artists from a generation that for sure “interacts” with the current one through ways of working, relationships and beyond, but there is one thing they have as s core, a base to it all: their values. Some of these are integrity, care, sharing, educating, learning, being humble, always and forever prioritising music above all things and against all odds. 

With an infinite discography and extensive musical background that spans decades, the head behind labels such as Melcure, HC and Cure music defines his career as a protracted palette of colours. From classical to rock and from indie to new wave, Felipe has dedicated most of his life to developing his perspective on all musical trends, and the last 20 years, focused on exploring electronic sounds and all its sub-genres.

As an inveterate music lover and collector, it is clear to define him as a broad dj with a diverse vision, one that defies any narrowed musical genre specification, it is very wide, that combined with a very personal musical identity, absorbing from each style while generating what we call “the stamp”, the bit that defines one as “an artist”, their unique points. 

Known by his peers as a "full on music maker", there is no doubt about the countless tracks that are part of his sessions nowadays, so much so that in 2024 he launched a brand new live at H0l0 in NYC for a Jigit event. This live recording can be found HERE, it was released on the toi toi mix series, a collective he is very much attached to musically and ideologically. Some of his recent releases have been so sought after that copies were running out of the shelves at shops in no time. 

Many labels and Alter egos define this audio engineer as a complete and open minded producer.

Among his collaborations we can find him as: FAER, AHORA, Acapulco heat, Calcio Club, Bichos raros, Dorian Paic among many others, in addition to his multiple solo projects.
