Calpernia is an ex-Navy Desert Storm combat medic turned Old Hollywood Showgirl. 

From her earliest beginnings as a child playing Bluegrass gospel fiddle in an isolated fundamentalist cult deep within the woods of Tennessee, she has experienced a dizzying ascension into her globe-spanning career as a cult-favorite musician, actress and activist for women's and LGBT rights. 

She has starred in her own MTV/LOGO television series about dating as a transsexual woman, written a memoir, composed and arranged countless songs and participated in raising tremendous sums of money for causes close to her heart. She has been the face of Facebook's national "Airplane" commercial and OCC Makeup's national Sephora campaign.

I'm DeLila Black.  I make music,  I also make videos clips,   and performance art.  I was born in Port Au Prince, Haiti.  
I've been developing my own Alt-Americana sound, exploring what I call Electro-Mountain Music,  Country-Noire, Punk-Country and Trip-Steel Guitar.  I also do some genre jumping, mashups, mix tapes and  traditional. But I do like most musical styles. and enjoy experimenting in mixing them together.
