Well hello there everybody!  Welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk.  For the first time in over a month, the original crew is back together to discuss all your Patreon submitted questions, trophy related news stories, and an assortment of newly released trophy lists.  This episode featured some great thought provoking questions for us to dissect and mull over, and we hope that you enjoy listening to us discuss them as much as we enjoyed recording our thoughts.  For starters, Colin wants to know what happened with Stranded Deep.  The once free with PS+ essential survival game, received a patch recently that makes the platinum easily obtainable in it's new co-op game mode.  Is this something that makes sense to go after and how do we feel about this Ultra Rare platinum becoming way more obtainable?  From there we discuss great book recommendations, our favorite homecooked meals, gaming soundtracks that we consistently return to, and what our dream jobs are.  We dwell on these topics for quite some time as they were a lot of fun.   Finally we close up shop with three trophy list reviews.  Colin is optimistic about all things Capcom recently, including the Exoprimal trophy list.  Slugger continues his love of rogue lite / like games with Rogue Legacy 2, and Darryl continues to find fun survival horror indie games in his review of Gylt. Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 89: Gylty Conscious

Hello there everybody!  Welcome back to another episode of your favorite bi-weekly trophy hunting show!  On this week's episode the gang is back down to it's core three member show and has a lot to catch up on.  Darryl has been hitting the gym regularly and is feeling nice and beefed up, ready to regale us all with tales of TMNT Mutant Mayhem, as well as a trophy list review for a musical RPG in the same style as older Telltale Games.  That's right, he's talking about Stray Gods!  Slugger meanwhile brings forth Remnant 2 for discussion, and the crew is generally very impressed with how straightforward the trophy list seems.  Colin rounds out the trophy list reviews with Quake 2, another surprise release from Quakecon 2023.  But does this game's trophy list hold up when compared to the original remaster?  Well in short, no.  The trophy list is bland and simple, devoid of most creativity.  That doesn't mean that Colin won't be picking it up and playing it though, as his obsession with boomer shooters continues to grow.  On top of all that the team discusses what games we would want to trophy hunt in first if for some reason we had to start all over, and what we would want PSNP and Discord to do to help show off more of our favorite series and Platinum's. Hello there everybody!  Welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk!  In this , our 92nd episode, the crew has gathered to discuss what we've been playing for the past few weeks which include some real quackers if you know what we're saying.  For starters though, we provide an update on our trophy hunting race over in our Discord, which by the time you're hearing this, is nearing completion!  From there we take a second to pause and reflect on our gaming goals for the year.  Have we been tackling our backlogs as much as we wanted?  Are we still as focused on upping our completion percentage as we were at the start of the year?  The results vary of course!  After that we get into our Patreon submitted questions which cover topics such as PlayStation Stars on console, what we think the biggest flop out of PlayStation and Sony is in recent years, and what our favorite console from Sony has been.   We end the show with what we've been playing with games ranging from Untitled Goose Game, TMNT: Shredders Revenge, Final Fantasy 6, Quake 2, and much more. Trophy  Talk Podcast - Episode 92: Quack!!

Come along with us dear listeners on a journey, a journey through the backlogs of three men in the midst of what may be the busiest period of high quality AAA releases in the past 5 years.  In this episode, Slugger, Darryl, and Colin all try to distill down their backlogs to five essential picks that they feel the most compelled to actually go back and clean up.  With October quickly approaching and bringing AC: Mirage, Spiderman 2, and many other games between now and then, it seemed the perfect time to try and think about a good strategy for approaching our backlog in the coming months.  On top of all that discussion we also go over Patreon submitted questions!  Topics include how we would mash up a genre and existing IP in a new way, our proposed TV adaptations of a known game series, and what the best all time mini game is in gaming. Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 93: Backlog Blues

Hello there everybody!  Welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk.  This marks the very first occassion that Darryl and Colin have ever done a duo podcast together, which is crazy considering we're three years into doing this show.  Regardless, we relished at the opportunity to discuss gaming, and take a break from a very busy period of work.  

 We start off the episode with a little mini break down of the most recent Resident Evil 4 Remake DLC, Separate Ways, which came out on the day of recording the episode.  As massive RE fans this DLC is intriguing as it brings back the classic challenge that we know and love in these trophy lists, but does so in a bite sized $10 package.  From there we get into Platinum shout outs and Patreon shout outs before moving on to some questions submitted by the listeners!  Topics include, what games we were highly anticipating that didn't live up to our own hype, what the last game we would choose to tackle on our backlog would be, and if we have any recommendations for new Switch owners.  

To close out the show we talk about what we've been playing.  Much of this time Colin spends trying to convince Darryl, (and anyone else who will listen), to buy and play FF16.  It's a fantastic game of course but in addition to that, the trophy hunt and list is extremely well designed!  Darryl then chimes in with updates on Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, as well as a bit of an update on Star Wars: Squadrons, and Inside.

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 94: An "Eikonic" Discussion

Hello there everybody!  Welcome back to another episode of trophy hunting discussion, and gaming goodness. In this one, the boys are reunited and ready to discuss some of the biggest gaming releases of the year.  That's right, not only is it Spooktober but the month we've long discussed where some of our favorite franchise release their newest iterations, in hopes of capturing our imaginations and trophy hunting attention.  We're please to say that all three games we look at in this episode have solid lists, that pay homage to not only other games in their respective franchises, but to their inspirations as well.  

The first bit of the show sees us discussing some platinum shout outs from the Discord community, and hearing tales of Slugger's recent travels.  From there we spend a little time going over some top 25 lists, and what moments from games have truly scared us.  

The second hour and some change is all about the aforementioned trophy lists.  So sit back, relax and enjoy some discussion about AC Mirage, Lies of P, and Spiderman 2's trophy lists. Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 96:  The Boys Design a Showcase

Hello there everybody and welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk!  The crew has got some pretty damn interesting lists to review for you this week as for some reason, developers seem to have forgotten what things like platinum trophies and a good distribution are.   As you can see from the thumbnail, one of the main games and topics we discuss is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.  Just what exactly was Activision thinking by giving only the PS4 version of the game a Platinum, and the PS5 version simply popping as a DLC for Modern Warfare 2? It seems insane to us, and really doesn't bode well for the future yearly releases of the blockbuster franchise.  On top of that we discuss Alan Wake 2.  While the game seems to be in the running for game of the year, and is reviewing extremely well, its distribution and overall approach to its trophy list design seems a bit odd to say the least.  Lastly we also take a look at the Ghostrunner 2 trophy list, and compared to the first two games we talk about, the list is marvelous!  

Before all that though we have some hot topics and house keeping to go over, some platinum shout outs from our Discord, and of course your Patreon submitted questions. Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 97: The Call of Duty Fiasco

Hello there everyone! 

Welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk, your favorite bi-weekly trophy hunting show.  In this episode, Colin, Slugger, and Darryl give you updates on some of the fantastic games and trophy hunts they've been taking part in as we quickly approach the end of what has been an amazing year for games.  Colin regales us with tales of Baghdad in Assassin's Creed: Mirage, and touches on his time with Alan Wake Remastered.  Slugger gets  time with one of his favorite all time franchises in Like a Dragon: The Man Who Erased His Name.  Darry is the only lucky one in the group who has gotten a chance to platinum Spiderman 2 already, and has finally started his playthrough of God of War: Ragnarok.  Yes, after almost a year of sitting on his shelf at home, he's finally ready to tackle one of last years greatest stories and trophy hunts.  

That's not all though!  The crew also gives there thoughts on the recent nominees for Game of the Year to come out of The Game Awards.  As noted above, this year was quite the banger with new game releases, do the nominees truly capture that greatness?  

Last but not least we of course answer our Patreon submitted questions.  What game would we want to remake entirely if we had creative control?  What difficult platinums and trophies are we planning on going after in the future?  All of that and more behind the play button.

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 98: Slugger Recommends*

Well hello hello there everybody! Welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk! 

This episode sees a return to the normal run of the show, after what has been a fairly hectic week for a few of the hosts.  Slugger fills us in on his most recent escapades to see the Bills play during the play offs, and Colin and Darryl are going through a rather slow period at work.  That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it does mean that it's harder to get in the normal routine and rhythms of life.  That being said, we've got a banger episode for you all, so thanks so much for tuning in and listening. 

For starters we have a few housekeeping items to go over which include the start of the next competition and Discord raffle beginning February 1st, Colin's most recent guest appearance on PS Plus Game Club, and the announcement that Pat and Kevin will be back on as guests on the show in the near future. 

From there we get into our Patreon submitted questions which range from the goofy to the profound.  On the profound side, the boys try to come up with their 5 most proud platinum trophies in their whole collection while also keeping in mind if these are games that we can recommend to the wider trophy hunting audience.  After that we discuss things like our preference with flying first class or for free, what video game character we want to smell like, and what our favorite TV shows and cartoons were growing up.  

As it turns out two of the hosts were Nickelodeon kids while one was firmly in the camp of Cartoon Network... can you guess who? 

Last but not least the guys each bring a trophy list to review and discuss.  Darryl continues to go hard on indie games and brings forth Cub, a fairly new release which he just so happens to have a great deal of love for.  If you couldn't tell from the thumbnail and title, Slugger goes deep into the analysis of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth and it's Day 1 DLC for NG+.  Last but not least Colin takes a look at just why the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake lists keeps popping up every so often on PSNP.  Is this game ever going to come out?

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 103: First Class to Kamurocho

Hello there everybody! 

Welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk.  This time we're joined by Maximum Carnage, from all the way across the great pond.  Sitting in the UK, besieged by a police helicopter and 6 pints of beer, Max joins us to give his take on some of the more recent games he's been playing, the origins of the Rage God in our Discord, and his adventures in Tomb Raider and Final Fantasy! Darryl and Josh are also here of course to provide their insight on topics including what our current game of the year is before heading into a busy release schedule in the Fall, hot takes in gaming meant to ruffle some feathers, and weird rituals around the care and maintenance of our homes.  

On top of all of that we get into what we've been playing which is fact quite a lot!  Max continues his massive journeys through the Tomb Raider Remastered Collection, and FF7 Rebirth.  Josh gets his investigative hat on with Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter, Rise of the Ronin, and a return to FF16 for NG+ and the DLC.  Darryl makes Colin a very proud man indeed by finally getting to Resident Evil Remake HD, as well as Death's Door.  Colin brings up the rear with some quick and fun plats from the PS Classic Collection in Toy Story 2, Toy Story 3, and Daxter.
