The fusion of the musical energy of the 80's and 90s with the present experience was a portal and a meeting point to produce the compilation "Smile Gang", the first release of the Brazilian label Banana Gold.

“The idea behind this selection is to bring back little-known versions of hits re-recorded by Brazilian divas. Female vocals, classic drum machine beats, and the texture of vinyl rips set the tone for this powerful compilation, filled with unbeatable dancefloor edits and reworks.

The contrast between female vocals and the heavy beats of classic drum machines has always captivated me. In my aesthetic obsession, I stumbled upon versions of hits interpreted by Brazilian singers from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. My challenge was to add punch and movement to meet contemporary dancefloor demands while preserving the original sound of the music. I focused on the steady, punchy kick drum of classic house music, along with the percussive elements of disco music and Latin rhythms.

The spark for this compilation was a discovery made during an afternoon of digging in São Paulo with Lucian Fernandes. The track we found was "Ela Dança Como Nunca Alguém Dançou," a version of 'Maniac' by the group Harmony Cats. The version was already great but needed some adjustments to fit smoothly into a set. Just one night in the studio with Beno was enough to create the first edit for this selection.

Lucian also contributed two other gems to the EP, 'Eu Vou Te Amar,' a version of 'I Will Survive,' and 'Sou Sempre A Mesma,' a version of 'Smooth Operator.' Another nugget for the compilation was 'Eu Queria O Seu Amor,' a version of 'My Cherie Amour,' rediscovered by Bossa with an acapella for us to play around with.

The other songs were YouTube finds, but after treatment and edits, they became as special as the physical rarities, hitting the dance floors perfectly.”

The album Alma em Sol by Gaspar Muniz and Beno is a sonic dive that blends modern rhythms with Brazilian sensibility. This EP explores genre fusion, stirring a deep emotional connection through frequencies and harmonies. The duo creates a natural dialogue between electronic and acoustic elements, drawing influences from MPB and experimental electronic music. The album features four original tracks and one remix, and is set to be released this Friday, October 12th, 2024, in Lisbon.

What makes Alma em Sol such a relevant work is its ability to stay deeply connected to the present while maintaining its essence. The album feels both contemporary and timeless. At a time when electronic music often prioritizes beats over soul, it's refreshing to find a project that balances these two forces so well.

"Atlântico" é assinado pelo produtor @dioncastro de Florianópolis - SC com 3 faixas originais incluindo um remix da produtora @kikadeeke de Balneário Camboriú - SC.

O artista visual Gabriel Engster com seu projeto @a.la.gabs.art assina a terceira capa de sua nova série que vem produzindo em parceria com a Bioma, partiu de referências imagéticas de cactos e partes do corpo como inspiração para os desenhos, para então abstraí-los em múltiplas composições experimentais de arte gráfica correlacionadas às sonoridades de cada lançamento.

Summer is the hottest season of the year, especially here on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean where we are bathed by this sea that refreshes us. To sound this moment, we bring the EP "Atlântico" with sounds of strong Brazilian influence, mixed with disco, house and minimal. With percussion elements naturally found in styles such as samba, the goal of mixing these timbres with electronic music is to bring our own identity to the electronic scene with increasing strength. "Atlântico" is signed by producer @dioncastro from Florianópolis - SC with 3 original tracks including a remix by producer @kikadeeke from Balneário Camboriú - SC.

Visual artist Gabriel Engster with his project @ a.la.gabs.art signs the third cover of his new series that he has been producing in partnership with Bioma, based on imagery references of cacti and body parts as inspiration for the drawings, for then abstract them into multiple experimental graphic art compositions correlated to the sounds of each release.
