Fresh from a series of stunning shows at CMJ in New York and a support tour with The Wedding Present, Flowers have announced a one-off gig in London on Saturday 7 February at the Sebright Arms, their only headline date in advance of a full UK and European tour next Spring. While their Bernard Butler produced debut album Do What You Want To, It's What You Should Do (released in September via Fortuna POP! (UK) and Kanine Records (US)) beautifully captured their raw vulnerability, their live shows that present a different aspect of the band, revealing the kinetic energy that is an essential element of their emotional beauty and stunning power.

Flowers’ genius is in their ability to convey a remarkable amount of emotion with minimal instrumentation. Singer Rachel Kenedy possesses one of those beautiful pop voices to die for, with echoes of Elizabeth Fraser (Cocteau Twins), Hope Sandoval (Mazzy Star) and Harriet Wheeler (The Sundays), whilst Sam Ayres’ guitars chime and churn with an incredible intensity and Jordan Hockley’s drums rip right through with urgency and precision, resulting in a beautiful album that conjures up a strange and entrancing sort of magic. Haunting, mesmerizing and intense, Do What You Want To, It's What You Should Do is an impressive calling card from a sensational new band.

PRESS RELEASE
Where 'Reticence' was all primordial clang and clatter, recalling the best moments of early '80s no wave and its forerunners - think Glenn Branca and Rhys Chatham's respective guitar ensembles - bookending one of the most immediate, accessible songs the band have ever written at its core, 'A Hunger Artist' is an altogether more colossal and meandering beast.

While its chiming guitar introduction might again bear passing resemblance to Branca's deft melodic interplay, its much quicker to cut to the chase. And what a chase it is: leading you over moonlit autobahns and down dark European back alleys. Drawing to mind Neu! and Roxy-era Eno, the Northern Irish quartet lay down a motorik groove that rarely lets up across its almost six-minute runtime, allowing gossamer synths and insistent bass to dance atop with aplomb.

Alongside this, the band are set to return to London for a one-off show this October (the 19th) at the historic 100 Club: a not-to-be-missed opportunity to see Arms Around a Vision brought to stunning life in the live setting.

Cardiff noise pop group Joanna Gruesome will be touring the UK in support of their recently released second album Peanut Butter, out now on Fortuna POP! (UK) and Slumberland (US).

The upcoming tour marks the first outing of the band's new lineup, which features Kate of feminist/queer punks Pennycress on melodic vocals/shouting/screaming and Roxy of Two White Cranes, Grubs, Trust Fund and TOWEL on melodic vocals/keyboard.
