Pull up a beanbag and cut a rug. Logan's Close is coming to town. With their debut album, Heart-Shaped Jacuzzi, imminent, the Edinburgh based band, headed by Scott Rough and Carl Marah, are preparing to showcase the record’s shimmering collection of instant classics in the grooviest underground emporiums around.

Originally comin’ straight outta Dunbar - arguably Scotland’s lesser known rock and roll capital - Rough and Marah formed Logan’s Close in order to fuse their love of Merseybeat, British invasion baroque bubblegum and laidback Los Angeles soft psych with a more Now sounding approach to songwriting. Having drafted in Stuart Neil on bass, Sean Morrison on keys, and Gavin Lamont on drums, the fruits of the dynamic duo’s union can be heard across a spate of singles released over the last eight years.

This included a sold out spectacle at The Caves in Edinburgh in May 2023, where, like its cavernous forebear, even the walls were sweating once Logan’s Close started ripping it up. The band showcased recent singles, Heart-Shaped Jacuzzi, Dans Le Jardin and Babestation, Gouching On The 33 and Hot Blondes In Your Area Tonight, all of which appear on "Heart-Shaped Jacuzzi", a ‘60s tinged collection that moves from basement bar bravura to tripped out Happening, without taking an entire decade to get there.

"Heart-Shaped Jacuzzi" was recorded in Hamburg, once upon a time the red light district breeding ground for British beat groups’ sometimes dubious rites of passage, and now playing host to a new generation of young men who should know better.


If the ‘90s were just the ‘60s turned upside down, Logan’s Close are the Century 21 sons and heirs to both.

Combining eclectic influences from music of the 1960s with forward-thinking ideas and approaches to songwriting, they create a saucy wee mixture of tuneage.

LC have appeared twice on Scottish national television, had multiple singles selected as BBC Radio Scotland's 'Single of The Week', completed a sold-out European tour in 2019, and in 2020 released their single ‘Lost In You’ to critical acclaim.

2022 has seen the band complete a mini UK tour, as well as having successfully recorded their debut album "Heart-Shaped Jacuzzi" in Hamburg. The band are now organising the album campaign and will set a release date in the near future. OOFT.

​ This is Turner…Born and bred in Tamesides Audenshaw Turner was introduced to the world with music cursing through her veins & even as a young girl was spoon-fed delicious melody's from the greats such as Dusty Springfield, Scott Walker, Blondie, The Beach Boys to name but a few!
 After moving up the road to Salford & a chance meeting with Guy Garvey at a recording studio Louise was asked to appear on the Mercury Prize-winning & platinum-selling album ‘The Seldom Seen Kid’ with Elbow from then on Turner made many Manchester Connections with even Peter Hook asking to jam sometime!
 Salford-based Louise then teamed up with the successful "Art&Soul" band DC Fontana from 2012 to 2013, and enjoyed a busy action packed year gigging around the country Appearing at numerous venues including the 100 club London & Euro YeYe festival Spain and receiving fantastic reviews for the bands EP "Pentagram Man" which was produced by Julian Copes Guitarist Donald Ross Skinner & working closely with 60’s Legend Don Fardon.

 She already enjoys a successful career as an in-demand session singer...& with a string of collaborations and guest appearances on tunes featuring Primal Screams Denise Johnson, Manc Poet and songwriter Edward Barton, Bluebird Kid Clark &The Electric Stars.
 Indeed, her crystalize vocals and powerful lungs have appeared on numerous records but despite her prowess as a much sought-after studio singer this Salford Chanteuse decided to step out on her own with her Debut Mini Album “This is Turner”.
Turner has had an action packed year so far building her platform and becoming the first female solo artist to sign with respected indie label “Detour Records”.
The 6 track Album was produced by another respected Manchester face- Yves Altana ( The Chamelons/ I Am Kloot/ Mark Burgess) and showcases the many sides of Turner, all part of her vintage charm, one minute classic Dusty, the next epic Scott Walker style ballads & just for good measure a track that could easily fit into the next Bond Film.

Four-piece, President Ray-Gun formed late 2013, hailing from Manchester.  Made up of Zachary Whittaker, Luke Chant, Sarah Booth and Tommy Grant, the band’s mission is to merge their love of sci-fi, comic books, alternative rock and 90s pop in order to create their truly unique sound. Influences range from Pixies to Weezer, taking in shoegaze and grunge along the way. The band combines distorted guitars, strong drumming, and reflective lyrics to offer a truly original concept. Whilst all the while working in subtle references to comic books, sci-fi and even professional wrestling which is what makes President Ray-Gun stand out the most.

Mary Epworth’s much-anticipated second album, 'Elytral', was released on 1st September 2017 and sees the British musician arriving with greater ferocity and a letting loose of her darker instincts through grinding, splintered soundscapes. Produced by Thom Monahan at his Golden Void studio in LA, the album encompasses electronic experimentalism, prog, psychedelia, free-jazz and more.

The first single from the new album, ‘Me Swimming’, has been enjoying a great deal of radio play and is a high-pop moment on a record that leans more to the dark and experimental. Recently named by Sunday Times Culture as their Hottest Track, they said of ‘Me Swimming’ “Shades of Visage and Stereolab here – a radical gearshift”, and NME picked up on the “Swirling, swooning synths”, naming it one of their Best New Tracks. 

Debut album, Dream Life, saw much praise from press and radio, and lead to four singles playlisted at BBC 6 Music, ‘Black Doe’ picked as BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record In The World, and Mary and her band performing sold-out headline shows and playing many festivals. Mary’s career has also taken an unexpected detour with the hit US podcast Welcome to Night Vale and its dystopian psychological-horror spin-off Within the Wires. She composed the music for the latter and joined the Night Vale team on their hugely successful live tours across the US and Europe.

For Mary Epworth, the creation of a new album has been about innovation and experimentation, as well as a steadfast refusal to dilute her ideas. Elytral marks the start of a new phase - bold and overflowing with possibility.

Lyrically intriguing with tenderly beautiful vocals, the songs of Little Sparrow are projected with honesty and passion. Little Sparrow released her debut album ‘Wishing Tree’ in 2014 – which featured brand new tracks along with those that had already become live favourites - each song beautifully created with the power to capture the imagination and warm the heart.

2018 saw a return to music for Little Sparrow after the birth of her son in 2016. As well as a gentle return to playing live, Little Sparrow released a new 3 track EP called 'Just 3', a collaboration with pianist and composer Robin Dewhurst (father to Josh Dewhurst from band Blossoms), and cellist Sarah Dale. Katie met Robin at Kendal Calling in 2016, they both performed at the Tim Peaks Diner and were asked to cover 'Baggy Trousers' by Madness by the Tim Peaks Team. This created a lovely new musical relationship which went on to create 'Just 3'. Robin also performed with Little Sparrow at The Bridgewater Hall, Manchester, in late November which saw the year off beautifully. 

2019 will see the long awaited release of her second album, and a return to live performances. Watch this space!
