Imagine a big funk band jam — James Brown’s crew at full tilt — but it’s just me, a synth, and a looped bass arpeggio holding it all together.
The Novation Peak takes on the horn section, firing off brass-style stabs, while other synth voices punch through like a rhythm section gone wild. The track started as a quick morning Splurge, then evolved through a live-streamed jam session. The final version you hear was carved down from that raw live energy — funky, fast, and full of attitude.

On Sticky Swedish duo Dagfest bring a breezy, summer festival-ready release infused with plenty of vintage synths over the course of five original tracks.

Opening proceedings is Spacer Love Samba, a slow, upbeat slice of italo disco with a raw bassline and fuzzy synth loops that makes for a great mood warmer. Imagination blends elements of synth pop and italo into a lush and laid back slice. Also on the romantic side, Baby, I don’t know delivers low key euphoria in the form of a zig zagging bassline with low slung vocals. Punchy kicks announce Night Thoughts, a floor filler that captivates with its upbeat energy and elastic bassline. Equally compelling, but on a slower note, Chasing rounds off the release with a touch of melancholy.

Demi Riquísimo returns to his Semi Delicious hand-stamped white label with another four impeccable disco fusion party tracks. Guitar lead ‘Shameless Progression’ follows skittering disco hats across a scape of lasers, a pulsing bassline and Italo synth business. ‘Encona’ is a summery re-edit of a foreign disco classic you'll no doubt recognise (shh..), Demi has added his naughty
robotic FM bassline and some proper drum chunk to the mix, a tasteful re-hash right until the end.¨

‘Second Element’ is a progressive disco tech crossover. Leading with a fat kick drum, tranceinducing chord patterns, acid flutters and topped off with 70’s soul edged vocal slices. ‘Spice Rack’ delves deep into the world of synthesis, an acoustic drum kit keeps pace while soft ambient chord progressions float delicately over with a hooky synth lead to top it off. A diverse collection of
contrasting tracks, all with Demi’s superb signature across them.
