Opening the start of a new chapter in his ever evolving sound, his new music takes a back to basics approach to electronic music. Created 100% from hardware drum machines, synthesizers and samplers, its striking melody pulls listeners along on a euphoric trip. 

As well as new music, Grum has created a fully live show which he will be taking on the road in 2024. Based on the hardware he used to write the new music, this laptop-free performance will allow him to play and control all aspects of his tracks, and re-arrange and remix them live for a highly immersive sonic experience.

My recent tour in India blew me away. All 3 shows were vastly different, but I chose to share this set from Goa because of the unconventional progression. 

I try to tell a story every night, and the story is steered by the crowd. This night in Goa, we started techy and dirty and finished warm and emotional.

La Fleur is nothing short of a visionary, with every move impossible to ignore. Nearly 20 years since her first steps into the music space, the producer, DJ, and label head meticulously fuses house and techno with infectious melodies to evoke deep emotions. Her sonic palette carefully curates a story—lauded by names including Kerri Chandler, Sasha, Pete Tong, and Kenny Larkin—its narrative is one of genius.

From her early days balancing a job as a pharmacist by day with playing records by night, before launching her revered label Power Plant merely three years later upon a move to Berlin, La Fleur’s discography has blossomed from strength to strength. Her Power Plant debut release ‘Flowerhead’ received an electric reception from the underground sphere and remains respected in 2023, with further releases on revered labels including Kompakt and Cocoon. With a residency and valued relationship with Watergate Berlin, her remixing Kerri Chandler and Sasha (including a hit 2018 collaboration with the latter on ‘Förbindelse’), remixes by Carl Craig and Kenny Larkin, plus numerous high-profile party and festival appearances, La Fleur now turns to an evolution in her craft.

By pouring energy into simply embracing the creative process—discovering new outlets, taking singing lessons, and freely enjoying herself without pressure, inspired by a move back to her homeland of Sweden from Berlin—the musician looks to the future with the upcoming album ‘Väsen’, out Autumn 2024. Firmly rooted in her intention to bring listeners on a journey with her intrinsic self, the Swedish word models not only an entity, but also an essence. With associated meanings embodying the natural world, strength, and noise, the forthcoming body of work is truly reflective of the self, down to the most minute details.

Looking back, La Fleur’s success feels somewhat inevitable. Valuing creativity and connecting with oneself has fueled Sanna Engdahl since childhood, spending her weekends exploring her rural surroundings and taking lessons in ballet, flute, and piano. Perhaps her future as a DJ was cemented at a similar age, having taken a penchant for recording tapes for her friends and always pushing them to listen to music which, in Sanna’s own words, she defined as “amazing”—all while simultaneously studying for a Master’s degree in pharmaceutical science.

Today, she is an esteemed name across DJ circles, honouring her younger self by sharing music which she loves the most with others. This time though, La Fleur does so on an international scale. She most recently played the iconic Sonar By Night festival and has numerous accolades including Awakenings Festival, Tomorrowland, Life Festival, Creamfields, and Warung. She has also played iconic institutions including Ibiza’s superclubs, Printworks London, Motion Bristol, and of course, Watergate Berlin.

Truly a trailblazer of the underground in the present day, La Fleur’s electronic artistry is something to behold. Her ascent shows no signs of deceleration, with the producer, DJ, and label head’s beautiful sonic concoction creating the perfect storm for dance floors young and old.

John Monkman stands at the forefront of the global electronic music scene. His dynamic performances and cutting-edge studio productions have earned him a reputation as both a live music pioneer and a master of sound design. Monkman’s work spans across some of the most prestigious labels in electronic music, including Kompakt, Ellum, Beesemyer Music, Siamese, and Anjunadeep. He delivered the mesmerizing track Siren for Kompakt, and collaborated with Pete Tong on Ecstasis for Maceo Plex's Ellum Audio. 

His releases like the Komplex EP on Anjunadeep and the versatile Tune In Turn On EP for Ellum highlight his diverse range. John has achieved two Beatport number ones with his remix of Solomon Grey's Twilight and his single Don’t Have to Be Beautiful, further cementing his influence in the global electronic music scene. Monkman’s remix portfolio is equally impressive. His remix of U Love for Sasha’s LNOE 100th release, which received strong support from Patrice Bäumel and Sasha, showcases his creative versatility. His remix of Space Date by Adam Beyer and Green Velvet for Drumcode underscores the respect he commands in the industry. He has also been remixed by Moby. In 2023, Monkman teamed up with Pete Tong once again for an official remix of Duran Duran's Give It Up. 

On the live stage, Monkman continues to make an impact. He has headlined key festivals like the UK’s Noisily Festival, taken his live set to Ozora Festival in Hungary, and performed at the Anjunadeep Festival in Albania. His recent accolades include headlining Rainbow Serpent 2021. The debut of John Monkman: Live at Coachella 2018 with The DoLab was a milestone in his career, highlighting his innovative approach to performance. 

2024 has been a pivotal year for Monkman. His latest live show, Pulse, premiered in Paris in collaboration with Collectif Scale, breaking new ground with a kinetic light art installation. Filmed in a Paris warehouse on July 6th, the show offers an immersive audiovisual experience. This year also saw the release of Khord on Anjunadeep, along with three singles—Vader, Roller Vox, and MAYA—on Beesemyer Music. John Monkman continues to elevate electronic music with his studio innovation and spellbinding live shows, securing his status as a leading figure in the electronic music scene.
