In his artistic endeavours, Johns traverses the unfiltered depths of house music, skilfully weaving a narrative that places a distinct emphasis on rhythm tracks and interweaves elements of slowed-down funk loops reminiscent of the distinctive style pioneered by D. Edwards.

Having made a notable contribution to the "A. Tracking #4" compilation, Barry Johns returns to the esteemed French label Motherlode Recordings with his highly anticipated first solo LP, titled "Raw Takes I." This album marks the inaugural instalment of an innovative series exploring lo-fi sounds and showcasing demo recordings.
