Up next on Amsterdam’s Format label is a four-tracker featuring original cuts and remixes by Matrixxman, Echologist and label boss Juan Sanchez himself.

The fourteenth Format release is definitely one not to miss out on, as it offers material from some of today’s most sought-after techno heads. Up first is Expiration, a joint effort from Matrixxman and Echologist. This one combines Matrixxman’s signature bass and Echologist’ one-of-a-kind dub techno flavors across a very trippy canvas. Format’s Juan Sanchez follows with a dark and synth-heavy rework of the track. On Foʞus, Juan displays a more melodic cut propelled by a playful groove. Closing things off, Matrixxman and Echologist turn Foʞus into a crushing techno track filled with sweeping fx.
Format continues with another strong release that’s destined to do the damage…

Rising UK artists Rene Wise and Billy Turner each deliver two deep techno cuts for the sixth chapter of @mote-evolver’s ‘Parallel Series’, curated by label founder Luke Slater.

Inaugurated by Luke Slater (as L.B.Dub Corp) and ASC in 2011, ‘Parallel Series’ has continued to host split releases from the likes of Shifted, Samuli Kemppi, Bas Mooy, Chris Finke, Developer, Truncate, Sev Dah, Jeff Rushin, and more. 

For its next installment, Brighton based producer Rene Wise returns to Mote-Evolver with two tracks, having debuted on the label last year. 

Both tracks are choice cuts picked by Luke Slater who’s been hammering Wise’s demos in his sets throughout the last year.

After being introduced to electronic music back in the early 90's in Los Angeles, a teenage David Flores was hooked. He started DJing across Southern California on the DIY warehouse, backyard, desert, and rave circuit. His style then was as varied as the local scene - a myriad of sounds ranging from house to acid to techno to hardcore. After a few years solely DJing, he began releasing original music under the monikers David F & Audio Injection, which landed him on labels such as Monoid, Stimulus, 4 Track & LA label Droid Recordings. His association with Droid Behavior began in 2003 as resident at the now defunct yet infamous and internationally acclaimed Interface event series alongside Drumcell and Raiz. He currently runs a new event series together with Drumcell and Oktaform named “Observe”.

In early 2011, he started the project Truncate to focus on the deeper, raw side of techno. His Truncate releases early on gained critical acclaim from world class underground talent such as Modeselektor, Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Chris Liebing, Speedy J, DVS1, Luke Slater, Ben Sims, Josh Wink, Eats Everything, Joris Voorn, and many more. Since then, he has provided remixes for artists across the musical spectrum including Kink, Slam, Loco Dice, Ben Sims, Josh Wink, Ellen Alien, Miss Kittin, Carl Cox & Nicole Moudaber. He has also released original works on 50 Weapons, Ultramajic, Blueprint, Ei8ht, Figure and of course his own imprint Truncate. He has also collaborated with Jimmy Edgar, Chambray and most recently started a new project with Ben Sims as ‘Assailants’ which they’ve released on their own imprint ‘Obscurity Is Infinite’.

A rigorous international tour schedule has since followed, including stops and regular appearances at the most prestigious venues and events, including Berghain in Berlin, Fabric in London, Concrete in Paris, The Movement Festival in Detroit, Womb in Tokyo, Dimensions Festival in Croatia, Awakenings in Amsterdam, Output in New York, and many more.

With his heavy remix, production and touring schedule there is still no slowing down for David. He continues to shape an evolving sound and to champion the Los Angeles underground.
