Templum begins its next chapter with Amazing Worlds of Templum: Vol. I — ten tracks from nine international producers who are shaping the direction of raw and hypnotic techno. Each contribution reflects a distinct artistic voice, drawn together into a wider tapestry of sound. The release also sets the stage for what’s to come, as Templum begins to showcase and elevate compositions from like-minded artists across the global technosphere.

The collection opens with Brooklyn-based label head Auspex on intro duties with “The Nature of Reality”—pulsing, arpeggiated sine waves dissolving into reverb baths over atmospheric drones, while a lost transmission on human perception cuts through the swarm. Gannein, Berlin-based by way of Paris, follows with “Psychic Primitive”—a grooving array of glitching metallic drums, pulsating bass, and an alien entomoid soundscape. From Spain, BØHM contributes “Still Unclear,” a tunneling rhythmic workout punctuated by skittering chirps, like a species of strange creatures communicating through trills and warbles.

Auspex returns with “Equilibrium,” a funky dance floor heater fusing percussive groove, warped atmospherics, and chopped-and-screwed vocals. From Buenos Aires, DAS ratchets up both tension and velocity with “Desolate Abyss,” a high-speed voyage into the darkest regions of space. Ket Robinson—Berlin-by-way-of-Paris producer, DJ, and KR Records founder—takes the controls on “Drone Vision” with dense kicks, seismic subs, and risers that push tension to a fever pitch.

Brazil’s VERUAH strips things down with “Anthem,” groove-driven and direct, collapsing into a disorienting breakdown before snapping back into a sizzling cadence. India’s Audio Units, a dynamic DJ/production duo, deliver “Obsidian Nebula”—a heaving behemoth from the outer reaches, cranking up the heat and applying atomic pressure.

The release closes in Brooklyn: first with the prolific BRÄLLE on “Nightly Meltdowns”—a war-hardened juggernaut hurtling through wormholes at warp speed—and finally Ramsey Neville with “Reactive Morality,” a propulsive alarm call, relentless and unyielding, signaling full speed ahead into frontiers unknown.

With his first EP on Token, Phara conjures up four tracks detailing dancefloor impact with robust personality. In ‘Second Skin’, the Belgian artist is eager for resolution, keeping tension high with the bold analog sound he’s known for. Coming eye to eye with the label’s sound, Phara pays homage to Token while fiercely defending years of artistic direction - layering the label’s astral ambiance with his unstoppable movement.

‘Second Skin’ sets Phara’s intentions clear. The titletrack rolls forward like heavy machinery with what seems like shifting vocals breathing life into the stereo image. This first cut is a gold standard of peaktime production, creating a sense of purpose at the core of urgency. Claps and rides boom and whip around the track that lumbers on with chord stabs to add soul to flare. ‘The Ring’, however, takes the listener into another direction. Heavily centered on the drum sequence with a sharp slap-back delay, Phara plays with resonance, sparking psychosis amongst movement. Playful in the short term, ‘The Ring’ proves to be an ultra-hypnotic track reserved for a set’s high intensity stretches on an already surrendered dancefloor. Taking this energy and pulling it in, ‘Neon’ comes to establish a bit more intimacy at first. Here, the producer diffuses his elements into themselves and, in turn, creates a thick ambiance that drives the record forward in space and dissonance. ‘Neon’ is inquisitive and almost spiritual in its effect, playing with the line between a unified dancefloor and an introspective journey. The conclusion to the EP is ‘Blood’, a return to dryer production - at least in the beginning. Ambient, almost psychedelic synth work sucks in the listener over unwavering energy to create a closing track worthy of its name. Rolling through to the end, ‘Blood’ delivers the final blow to an insatiable record on Token by Phara.

The next chapter of our hereandthere podcast series comes from Uväll — the Tbilisi-based DJ and producer Irakli Bregvadze, known for his raw, driving sound rooted in deep, muscular rhythms. Always pushing the edge, he has released on labels such as Semantica, Hayes, FLOAT, Canticle, WSNWG, INGUMA, and OECUS, quickly establishing himself as a respected voice within Georgia’s scene.

Beyond his productions, Uväll is also the co-founder — together with Script — of FACTION, a self-organised party series and label created by a new wave of techno DJs and producers. Rooted in sonic exploration and collective momentum, FACTION has become a platform for emerging artists and a reflection of contemporary techno.

Uväll shares a mix recorded during his set at RSO Berlin for the Deestricted club night.

Since being introduced to electronic music back in the early 90's, David has been hooked. At the age of 15 he started DJing and playing out at local underground events and raves around the Southern California area. You would've found him spinning various styles from house, acid, & techno to hardcore techno.

After a few years of DJing he then decided to learn to produce his own music, which landed him his first releases on labels such as Monoid, Stimulus, 4 Track & local label Droid Recordings. Since being associated with local event production group Droid Behavior in 2003, you can find him as a resident at the infamous Interface warehouse events as well as a regular producer for Droid Recordings. Over the years his music has gained worldwide attention and onto the playlists of many big players which eventually led him to gigs at some of the worlds biggest clubs including Berghain in Berlin and Fabric in London. He is also now regularly touring all over the world in Australia, Japan, Mexico, Canada, Central & South America, all throughout Europe and the U.S.A.

In early 2011 he started a project called 'Truncate' which focuses on the deeper, and more raw side of techno. His Truncate releases have been gain support from big players such as, Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Chris Liebing, Speedy J, DVS1, Luke Slater, Ben Sims, Modeselektor and many more.

With his heavy remix, production and touring schedule there is no slowing down in the near future for David as he continues to shape his own sound, putting Droid Behavior and Los Angeles on the techno map.

After being introduced to electronic music back in the early 90's in Los Angeles, a teenage David Flores was hooked. He started DJing across Southern California on the DIY warehouse, backyard, desert, and rave circuit. His style then was as varied as the local scene - a myriad of sounds ranging from house to acid to techno to hardcore. After a few years solely DJing, he began releasing original music under the monikers David F & Audio Injection, which landed him on labels such as Monoid, Stimulus, 4 Track & LA label Droid Recordings. His association with Droid Behavior began in 2003 as resident at the now defunct yet infamous and internationally acclaimed Interface event series alongside Drumcell and Raiz. He currently runs a new event series together with Drumcell and Oktaform named “Observe”.

In early 2011, he started the project Truncate to focus on the deeper, raw side of techno. His Truncate releases early on gained critical acclaim from world class underground talent such as Modeselektor, Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Chris Liebing, Speedy J, DVS1, Luke Slater, Ben Sims, Josh Wink, Eats Everything, Joris Voorn, and many more. Since then, he has provided remixes for artists across the musical spectrum including Kink, Slam, Loco Dice, Ben Sims, Josh Wink, Ellen Alien, Miss Kittin, Carl Cox & Nicole Moudaber. He has also released original works on 50 Weapons, Ultramajic, Blueprint, Ei8ht, Figure and of course his own imprint Truncate. He has also collaborated with Jimmy Edgar, Chambray and most recently started a new project with Ben Sims as ‘Assailants’ which they’ve released on their own imprint ‘Obscurity Is Infinite’.

A rigorous international tour schedule has since followed, including stops and regular appearances at the most prestigious venues and events, including Berghain in Berlin, Fabric in London, Concrete in Paris, The Movement Festival in Detroit, Womb in Tokyo, Dimensions Festival in Croatia, Awakenings in Amsterdam, Output in New York, and many more.

With his heavy remix, production and touring schedule there is still no slowing down for David. He continues to shape an evolving sound and to champion the Los Angeles underground.
