Trushmix 77: A live recorded mix by DJ Sotofett from September 19th 2015 at the excellent basement club Putte’s Bar & Pizza in Helsinki, Suomi. Five hour organic evolution of jazz, afro, funk with a pinch of reggae & blues, as well as disco and real house music – of course with essential Finnish and Norwegian classics - released and unreleased.

Kiitos: Antto @ Putte’s & Harri @ Keys of Life for organizing, and Tommi @ Sähkö for recording and live human-compression.

Trushmix 77: DJ Sotofett

With those sharp snares and 16-step hihats Trushmix 78 enters a somewhat 15 year old mix from the vault by Roland Lifjell - one of the finest underground techno/trance/ambient pioneers and old school DJ’s from Norway. On this mix he flexes his electro muscle - a side step to his usually thriving deep and adventurous techno mixes – this besides of running Filter Musikk – the one and only record shop in Norway still selling (new and old) House & Techno on vinyl and in spirit. This weeks Trushmix! LNS, homegirl straight out of the Vancouver East of Hastings underground! Another special excellent crafted mix. LNS digs deep into the ambient vibed techno tracks, with some additional machine funk fused cuts! This mix gets you into the groove and keeps it real for all the heads out there.
Keep your eyes and ears open for LNS the new and talented addition to Canada's West Coast 
take over. She will be out with her first release soon, so keep on looking, and keep  the underground vibes 4 real!

Telephones is back in the house for Trushmix 80.
A warm welcome to the all round happy underground house comedian. 
He fuels all of us with over an hour of warm, danceable,
and good vibed vintage quality house music, to warm us all up even more 
in this years warm winter.

While making this mix Mr Telephones was fuelled on beer, cigarettes and love, and boy you can hear that! So in other words, another mix from the top, like always here on Trush.

Trushmix 80: Telephones

Resom is part of the beating heart of Berlin. As a resident at the city’s ://about blank she creates resonant musical soundtracks and very real dance floor experiences from whatever is needed - be it electro, techno, house or ambient. Rather than focussing on genres, Resom focusses on a range of moods and does the same on her travels whether playing our festival in Amsterdam or an intimate club in London. Also a political activist, booking agent and gender equality campaigner, she is a new breed of artist who is mindful of how important her voice and platform can be in the dance world. 

The mix she serves up for us is one of there longest we’ve had, and over more than two hours offers pad-laced stimulation for the mind as well as jerky machine rhythms that will make you move.“This mix has no deeper concept then to simply let go from having a concept”, Resom adds. Her contribution to our series is often dark and stripped back, there are curveball moments of wildness and heads down passages of electronic funk. Typically free from easy genre signifiers, this is dynamic music that always keeps you guessing.

Ich wünsche meinen geneigten Hörern ein erfülltes, gesundes und musikreiches 2018. Für die Musik werde ich auch dieses Jahr wieder mit tollen Künstlern sorgen … versprochen.

Für die Rauhnächte dem Übergang vom alten ins neue Jahr hab ich mir die beiden Stuttgarter DJs Nadelöhr & Tobias Sandmann ins Boot geholt. Den Termin für diesen Mix haben wir bereits im April bei einem Interview-Treffen für Afterhour Sounds ausgemacht. Das war ein äußerst lustiger Nachmittag und es ist doch immer wieder toll die Menschen hinter den lustigen Dj-Namen kennenzulernen.

Die beiden lustigen Stuttgarter haben sich auch mächtig ins Zeug gelegt und eine wunderbare entspannte, rhythmische und verspielte Reise zusammengestellt. Ich würde mal sagen so lässt sich das Jahr doch gut angehen. Danke Denis und Tobi für den Soundtrack zu den Rauhnächten und meinen Hörern wünsch ich wie immer viel Freude mit der Musik und lasst es ruhig angehen ;-)

Good eccentric friend Cato Canari straight outta Tokyo delivers another mix with full on party vibes, to give all of us a grand entrance to this new and exciting year.

This mix was recorded at Cato’s monthly recidency Delusive at ØL in Shibuya!
Get ready for early nineties, house, breakbeat, rave, cheese some trancy stuff and some pop in between. Let’s start this year with some good old fun!

Trushmix 116: Cato Canari

Dear girls & boys and everybody in between,

before the year is over again, I’d like to wish you a healthy and happy new year! May sun shine upon you when you need the light and may it rain on you, when you need the water. 
I am happy to choose the first option for now, leaving foggy Berlin for a little vitamin D refill. But before leaving to South America for our Acid Case tour, I uploaded one of my favourite sets of the past year:  

„KC Grad“, Belgrade, September 23rd 2017

Just a few words about it:
I remember that I listened to music of Nicola (Cruz) on the plane and that I missed to take this amazing picture of Danube river when we flew over it, before landing at Nicola (Tesla) airport, where I had only been once (twice to be correct) before and after I played a short set not before, but after a 
Nicola(s Jaar) concert in 2012.
So this was only my second trip to Belgrade and because neither I want to bore you, nor have I intentions to write a city guide, I will skip the part where we took a very nice walk through the city, and jump right to the last half hour before my gig when I discovered this amazing Serbian synth pop band „Beograd“. No question, I HAD to play one of their songs! Choosing one was not quite easy, but as always when you happen to go with the flow, you don’t need to make decisions, simply because the moment makes them for you...I ended up playing a song called "Opasne Igre“ whatever that means….haha, now that I am writing this, I had to look it up and what can I say? I do see a slight dissent in the context here. I would say, it’s rather a "dangerous game" if you’re not going with the flow, but obviously the song’s topic is somewhat different, so let’s leave it like that for the moment and continue the journey. My personal flow-master led me to Georgia later that night. Stay tuned and you’ll hear - for the first time online - one of my favourite edits of the past 433 days: Ana Malazonia & Fiqria Daiauris’ „Magnolia“ with Andhim’s "Holger Der Polka“. This one is in fact not even an edit, it’s just two songs mixed together, with the slight difference of 28 bars, meaning that one of them starts 28 bars later then the other one. I once heard someone say: "Simple but oh how beautiful“. Yes that's true!
Of course I also had to play a track of my friend Satori, whose father makes the best Sarma (famous Serbian dish) I ever tried. It's prepared with cabbage that has to be pickled for almost half a year, to get the right taste. Yummy…but let's continue with music:
I played Djordje's remix of my track „Jorge“, which - amongst three other gems - will be released very soon on our label Ouïe. 
Although you can hear a couple other new (at least back in September they were new) tracks, the general vibe of the set rather reminds me of this: 
"Some of my favourite tracks and edits from here, there and then, stirred with a little bit of - don’t forget we’re in Belgrade! - Techno, slowly cooked on (DJ) Hell’s car fire, served with deep-fried shaman punk and sprinkled with a streak of humour.“ Drink menu suggests: Gem&Bolt

Taking the place of  067 in our ever-growing mix series, we have invited Rat Life bossman and Uncanny Valley affiliate, Credit 00 along to bring us one step closer to one hundred. The head honcho of one of the more consistent labels around today has provided us with just shy of ninety minutes of gritty, left of centre rhythms from the likes of Toresch, DMX Krew, Broken English Club and Golden Teacher. The blend is presented with significant character, coloured by the weighty, coarse attitude that also seeps through the seams in Credit 00’s own productions. With fresh material forthcoming (some of which you may hear in this mix), we thought it’d be the perfect time to showcase his current personality as a DJ, and the results are impeccable.
