Packed with 16 records, the project sees guest features from artist Bladee, Little Pain and Yung Lean to name a few. For the third part of our podcast series we have another one of our residents providing us with a mix. Macsack has put together a mix full of heavy artillery that you would expect to see him shaking dance floors with at gigs. 

Macsack has been busy over the last few months putting together an EP to be released in the near future on Koma Recordings. We are very excited to start putting out releases from our own residents and can assure you Macsack's release will pack some punch just like this mix!

KomaPodcast#003 - Macsack

As summer hits full swing, it makes perfect sense for the accomplished AVOTRE label to offer up some sizzling Ibiza anthems. As such, label boss Santé teams up with musical sparring partner Sidney to present From the Terrace to the Warehouse: Ibiza Heat, a compilation that pulls together seven new tracks of sun kissed dynamite that will soundtrack your every move this summer.
Both Santé & Sidney feature with a brace of killer cuts of their own. Sidney comes correct with ‘Basement Tales’, a tough, jacking track that is physical and irresistibly groovy. Meanwhile, Santé offers ‘Acid Rain’, which is another pure house bomb with rubbery kicks and lots of great synth work as well as that classic squelchy sound we all love.
The rest of the compilation pulls together a clutch of new producer talents that haven’t released on the label before, but each one fits in perfectly with the no nonsense MO of the label to date.
Along the way, the likes of classic house producer Montel offers ‘Body Music,’ which is a physical house cut with thudding kicks and groove laden percussion. Mennie keeps it deep and old school flavoured with the slow jack of ‘Organica’ and Locklead offers up a whacked out, sketchy and playful track that is all lo fi and grainy, bumpy and raw.
Kuo Climax’s ‘Breakdown’ is a high pressure, high impact track with alien synths, sic fi sounds and massive, barreling drums that thud with a real sense of presence. Last but not least Ale Castro’s ‘Schubkraft’ keeps things decidedly deep and retro with hubby basslines, airy hi hats and big splashes of cymbal all riding next to a wub-wub bassline that will sends hands in the air.
This is a brilliantly varied compilation of cuts that both DJs and dancers are sure to love this summer. As ever, AVOTRE has pulled together the finest talents of the day and got the very best out of them.

This one comes from Wonja (@wonj), who you may remember as being a regular stand-in contributor in my absence. Based in Oakland CA, she's a DJ/producer who loves to dig. She contributed a track to the Bandcloud compilation in 2014, and to be honest I'm not sure why I never asked her for a mix before now — her Wood Glass Metal series is sublime — but there you go. This one covers a huge range of stuff: current bangers from John T. Gast ‎and Equiknoxx, blissful 80s gems from Japan, eclectic in the best way possible. It drifts and moves like a perfectly varied collection of short stories.

Bandcloud Guest Mix — September 2016 - Wonja

Solid Steel (9th September) This week on Solid Steel it's an Awful Records takeover kicking off with Father, the founder of the Atlanta based label that has been one of the most talked about over the last few years, pushing the boundaries of hip hop and RnB in their own independent way. The mix from Father has a classical opening with Rachmaninoff, before dropping into Rae Sremmurd, Eve, Ras Kass, Koop, Ceu, Shyne and Brother Lynch Hung. Label mates Archibald Slim and Playboi Carti also feature alongside the track Heartthrob by Father, which has a new video coming soon. He told us "It's a collection of sounds that represent my current mood" and there are plenty of new sounds on the way.
