This collaboration is all about our love for remix culture. Your favourite labels "We Keep Shit Dope Records" and "Trust in Wax" are teaming up to release their 1st mutual tape! Both are united by the idea to support Downslow with his idea to create a six pack of alternate versions of his beloved "Doom, Dub + Dosenbier“ EP. As a result „Dosenbier recycled“ showcases six plus one twisted reworks which range from dancehall driven vibez, atmospheric electro sounds and deep rooted house up to dope beats with snappy snares and booming kicks. Put the needle on the record and tie your dancing shoes: After some deep studies of "sine wave"-ism and „handclap“-istcs at the University of Vintage Gear, Atwashere switched on his trusty MPC 3000, plugged in his SP 202 … and grabbed some vinyl to let go! His new tune is mainly about a moogy baseline, some rearranged humming voices and plenty chopped piano licks. We are really happy he returned from his beat lab with a slow disco mover like this! Okay, for the latest song from Trust in Wax we thought it was time for something special. A postcard with our music on it. You can send it with a nice saying or just love it and play it on your record player. 

With all this going on, you could almost forget that the song on this vinyl postcard isn't bad either. Downslow and Atwashere worked together in the studio on their song "Dev", resulting in three edits: A short version, the playing length of which fits well on this postcard ... and two uncut versions, pretty much tailored to their personal taste, which you can also download as a digital release from our shop or stream on the usual suspects.

In the dark, partly isolated days of Covid-19 we came up with the idea of "Sample Roulette": A sample flip contest to give the producer scene a little input in a time of low activity, when casual togetherness or making music together was almost impossible. The rules to participate were as simple as they were easy:

The submitted songs had to contain sounds from at least one sample pack of the “Sample Roulette” series and could only contain additional sounds to which you also own the rights.

Our huge thanks go out to all the fantastic originators of the ten sample packs, who created all these exclusive, unique sounds for the "Sample Roulette". We are still stoked how much this campaign was accepted even beyond our hometown! Without this basis, the killer tracks on this compilation would not have been possible!

Trust in Wax is a collective of musicians, artists and DJ’s based in Münster, Germany. We are all about music, no matter which style. Hip Hop, Soul, Jungle, Reggae – you get the idea. We like it, we play it. But we do not only play other guys music ... we also produce our own tracks! 

It started with some special edits to nice up our gigs. Right now we are very happy to celebrate our next official release. On NICE ONE we’ll present downbeat music we made … like this decent pair of dope beats:

Half a century of underground music: Downslow combines Rock, Dub and 80s synthie sounds to mix up his very own – very dark – blend. True to a punkrock „Do it yourself“-attitude, it’s not complex compositions or heavy use of gear he’s focussed on, but loops and atmospheres, brought to a point on a laptop, solely using free software and plug-ins. No further equipment needed.

The „Doom, Dub + Dosenbier“ E.P. is an aural six-pack for hanging around busstops: Six tracks with splintered drums, dark drone sounds, swirling syntheziser patterns and musical scraps disappearing in reverb and delay rooms.

While Downslow’s origins go back as far as the early 90s, he just recently started producing again, after a long years of DJing. First sign of life after a nearly 20 years hiatus is the split single „It’s a new Jay/At a new Way“, released in 2017 with fellow DJ At aka Atwashere on his label „Trust in Wax“ – which is also putting out „Doom, Dub + Dosenbier“.
