French musician, dynArec started making music in 1994 but it wasn't until 2003 that he released his debut EP on Delsin. A string of critically acclaimed releases has followed on other labels including Puzzlebox, Solar One Music, Nature, Return To Disorder, Electrix, Bass Agenda, his own Vaporwave label and more, which has established him as an artist with a unique sound.

dynArec now brings that seminal craftsmanship to Cultivated Electronics over four new tracks from the imposing 'Stop and Stall' via the electronic funk of 'First in Motion' and deeply grooving ' Specialized In Anything', to the twinkling closer, ' Lowest Perceived Legitimacy'.

Rise of the Machines is the debut collaboration between two exciting new players in the electro scene - Erik Griffoen & Ben Evans aka The Droid, who have been forging new sounds across a multitude of heavy tracks over the past two years that have picked up strong radio support from Dave Clarke on White Noise, Ralph Lawson on Exit Planet Earth and Qamar Sol on Space is the Place, alongside plays from by ADT, Paul Hierophant, Damo B and Dexorcist.

ROTM features four tracks of cutting edge electro that transition from peak time in the club to moments of pure tripped out musical bliss, all delivered with expert production and sound design.

Kicking off the release comes the title track ‘Rise Of The Machines’, this quirky yet nuanced excursion sets the pace, allowing it’s nifty ricocheting sequences, slick 808s, and tripped out ear candy to hit the clubs. ‘Prisoners features a wiggly bass led jam, plastered with synths and finished with a dash of vocoded vocals.

Onto the flip side - ‘Room And Pillar’ grabs the bull by the horns with a tough and aggressive bass line driven banger. Shrieking, twisted synth lines and FX are shattered across the track, keeping tension levels peaking, while TR808 rhythms cut through with military precision. Contrasting ‘The Neutral Zone’ sucks us into a deep atmospheric orbit of blissful yet inquisitive FM synthesis, distant emotive pads, fortified by warm stately bass tones.

Over the past five years Daniel Lodig and Martin Sovinz aka /DL/MS/ (@dl-ms) have been continually commuting through the electro singularity, constructing their unique brand of fragile bass music from extradimensional sound salvage, and spreading their frequency patterns via the subspace channels of @frustratedfunk, @pomelorecords, @vigram and TRUST. 

‘Calanhi’ is the Viennese duo‘s debut album – 12 tracks that combine the eternally fresh aesthetics of Detroit-style electro with a relentless curiosity for rhythmic and harmonic experimentation. Seismic club thumpers like ’Invisible Bits’, ‘Mountains’, and ‘Trusted Funk’ alternate with moody ambient interludes, boldly constructed beat inventions, and blissfully melodic acid breaks. Two collaborations further switch up the flow: Nigerian artist @g-rizo (@hezekinapollutina, Deejay Gigolo) drops her cryptic rhymes on ‘Divide & Conquer’, and Spanish singer Xx Isis xX (@isiskuaygarond) provides vocals for ‘Accelerated Frequency’.

[TRUST40] /DL/MS/ - CALANHI LP [out may 2022]

A new EP by UK DJ / producer, Controlled Weirdness lands on Cultivated Electronics Ltd (CE's vinyl only sister label) in July. Heads will know Controlled Weirdness (real name Neil Keating) from his monthly radio show on Threads, his Presence Unknown label and Electric Sweat events. But he's actually been rocking the decks since the mid-'80s when as a youngster, Electro and early '80s pirate radio started his obsession with electronic music and he played his first gig at "The House of Dolls" in Farringdon where he soon became resident. After a stint in New York from 1989 he met Joel Bevacqua aka DJ Deadly Buda, who after returning to his hometown of Pittsburgh invited Neil to play at the first ever rave there in 1991, leading to a 6-month stint of events. Neil eventually returned to London in 1992 and started a radio show on pirate station Chillin FM alongside his sister, Stacey (later known as NoYeahNo). Many more events followed until in 1996 he formed Unearthly Records. Since then, he has played worldwide from plush clubs to dirty warehouses and has appeared on a variety of labels including Audio Illusion, Control Tower, Praxis, Zhark, Dirty Needles, Fdb and Still Raven. On 'In The Shadows' he delivers 4 earthy and raw Electro cuts with exciting electronics, tough beats and wonky acid.
