Hailing from Austin, TX, StormShadow is best known for his realism, eloquent style and engaging lyrics that have enriched the music industry for over thirty years. An Emcee, songwriter, and altruistic artist, StormShadow has been inclined to sound of Hip-Hop since his early years. Growing up, the gifted emcee regularly listened to his older brother playing music from renowned emcees such as; Run DMC, Kool Moe Dee, and LL Cool J. All his consorts were Hip-Hop fans who spoke Hip-Hop terminology and would break dance.
Existing precedingly in a time when analog tape recorders were the norm, StormShadow was able to develop his agility from the ground to the top. Throughout the years, he has performed at several shows like Southwest Music Festival (Austin, TX), Deep Ellum Music Festival (Dallas, TX), and The African Caribbean Music Festival (Killeen, TX), among others and has also opened up for many underground Hip-Hop acts such as; KRS-ONE, R.A. The Rugged Man, Dj Rob Swift of The X-Excutioners, Killah Priest, Raashan Ahmad,
and many more others. Greatly influenced by other legendary emcees, including; the Wu-Tang clan, Tupac, & Nas, among others, StormShadow’s ingenuity has attracted other emcees to work with him. Through his vast discography, the emcee has worked with artists like; Gensu Dean, Rhyme
Fest, Blue Print, Pigeon John, and Slum Village, to mention just a few. His Hip-Hop influences have spread widely to all his music projects and he also passes some of it to other upcoming emcees through his Hip-Hop Culture Workshops.
Currently, StormShadow is warming up for his forthcoming project dubbed “Rebel with ah Cause,” which consists of militant, rebellious, and edutainment vibes. His next single titled “Yeshua's Vengeance” is a whole mix of Jamaican culture with lyrical rhymes over classical music and a Hip-Hop twist. Produced by Dray Yard, the track highlights the prevailing events, from Police Brutality, the lightening of Egyptian / Kemetic hieroglyphs, Racism, the Murder of Sandra Bland, and Genetically modified cannabis.
