Protest March Sound Effects Library Audio Preview Demo Montage

Wildifyed (stylised from Wildified) is the debut EP by Axel Wild, the artistic alias of Axel Drioli, released on Sounding Wild Records. This EP features meticulously selected loops created during Axel’s travels through West Africa with his brother, Ario, as part of the Wings Across Continents expedition by Sounding Wild, his immersive production house. Wildifyed captures Axel’s duality—balancing the patience of a birdwatcher, waiting days for a bird to sing, with the unrestrained energy of a 6 a.m. UK Bass dance floor.

The loops were composed during dawn car rides in remote deserts, uninhabited islands, and tropical rainforests, where Axel recorded wildlife sounds. Inspired by the expedition, he began sampling these recordings and transforming them into beats, ranging from lo-fi to house, funk, dubstep, and jungle. After returning from his travels, he selected the most significant samples and crafted them into tracks that tell personal stories. These stories explore themes like Axel Munthe’s legacy—the source of his name—brotherhood’s challenges, using dance to combat melancholy, and the powerful narrative of Gregory Coleman, the creator of the Amen Break, who died homeless and penniless, alongside the plight of endangered animals.

Willow Warbler of College Valley

Tawny owls bid farewell to the night, as the first songsters begin to call. This moment just before the first songs begin has sometimes been referred as First Blush. The forest acoustic space goes from relative silence to full symphony in the space of a few minutes, recorded here for International Dawn Chorus Day 2025.

The crackling sound is not rain (or fire!) but honey dew, I believe. Would love your thoughts on that.

Unidentified stridulations inside a rotten tree stump, inspired by the adventures in soil ecoacoustics of my friend Les Goodyear.

The sound could be produced by 
- ants (one ant?), going by this recently released film by Jamie House: https://youtu.be/f9FgbH3zBfM?si=mljaAN8CZtxSwZJi&t=141 - but more information is needed. 
- or by beetles, going by this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ByXirczAFs kindly shared by Mike Sims.

Inside A Rotten Tree Stump

Two periwinkles munching on a seaweed stipe. Their varying tempos and soft crunch created an entrancing rhythm.

COMMON SANDPIPER (Actitis hypoleucos)
SONG IN DISPLAY FLIGHT

This sound-portrait of a Common Sandpiper on its breeding grounds reveals the insistent and highly rhythmic "sewing-machine" song, given  as the bird circles around the loch side just after midnight on the 6th June 1997.  At times, insects drone close against the windcage.

The atmospheric roar of distant breakers on the Uig Saltmarsh can be heard in the background, along with "bleats" from Snipe, and faint calls from Ringed Plover and Greenshank.

The title of the piece is the Gaelic name for this species, meaning literally "Fidler-Bird by the Loch".

Uig Saltmarsh, Timsgarry, Uig Penninsula, Isle of Lewis.

Captured with  a Sony MZ-R3 Portable MiniDisc Recorder, using a pair of Sennheiser K6ME66 short-gun electrets.   Note that this is my only Soundcloud item in which I have used electret microphones and a non-linear recorder
