The Bardo Thodol (Tibetan: བར་དོ་ཐོས་གྲོལ, Wylie: bar do thos grol), Liberation Through Hearing During the Intermediate State, is a text from a larger corpus of teachings, the Profound Dharma of Self-Liberation through the Intention of the Peaceful and Wrathful Ones, revealed by Karma Lingpa (1326–1386). It is the best-known work of Nyingma literature, and is known in the West as the Tibetan Book of the Dead.

The Tibetan text describes, and is intended to guide one through the experiences that the consciousness has after death, in the bardo, the interval between death and the next rebirth. The text also includes chapters on the signs of death and rituals to undertake when death is closing in or has taken place.       -Wikipedia

This talk includes an overview of each of the four limitless qualities: love, compassion, sympathetic joy, and equanimity, and an explanation of the four lines of the four limitless qualities chant. One of the key points to developing a connection to each of these qualities is training in relaxing with uncertainty, anxiety, unpredictability, and groundlessness. Another is trusting in the good heart, the buddha nature, of all beings. Such trust develops through inquisitiveness and honesty, especially with respect to our frailties, prejudices, and limitations. Four equanimity practices are introduced.

Tonglen Instructions

Tonglen practice is a method for connecting with suffering – our own and that which is all around us, everywhere we go. It is a method for overcoming our fear of suffering and for dissolving the tightness of our hearts. Primarily, it is a method for awakening the compassion that is inherent in all of us. This talk by Pema Chödrön consists of the basic tonglen instructions and guided tonglen practice, given in 1998 at the San Francisco Zen Center.

Invited to visit the city of Vaiśālī, which has been ravaged by a terrible epidemic, the Buddha instructs Ānanda to stand at the city’s gate and recite a proclamation, a long mantra, and some verses that powerfully evoke spiritual well-being. Ānanda does so, and the epidemic comes to an end. One of the mahāsūtras related to the literature of the Vinaya, this text, like other accounts of the incident, has traditionally been recited during times of personal or collective illness, bereavement, and other difficulties.

Saga Dawa Heart Sutra Recitation, 4 - 5 June 2020, Global
At the request of Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche, this is a new choral arrangement of the Heart Sutra presented as a "virtual choir." It was sung as separate tracks by over thirty participants in ten different countries, which were then edited together to create the choral arrangement. The video was produced and edited using Zoom and broadcast across the world on Zoom, YouTube and Facebook Live for 24 hours to commemorate Saga Dawa Düchen, the day where Buddha's birth, enlightenment and parinirvana is celebrated across the world. The melody is based off of a musical setting of the "Nilakantha Dharani," a dharani associated with Avalokiteshvara in Japanese Buddhism, written by Kanho Yakushiji, a Zen priest. The translation of the Heart Sutra was done by the Nalanda Translation Committee, the video editing by Sophie Perks and the choral arrangement by Harry Einhorn. Produced and practiced with the intention of pacifying the turmoil of the world at this time, in the words of Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche, “May we invoke love, kindness, and healing, and open our hearts for the earth.”
