The Expansion of Infinity

In 2019, after releasing my single Distant Visions, a fan reached out and said:
“Almost sounds like something from a second interstellar suite.”

That one sentence stirred something in me. It took me back to The Maestoso Interstellar Suite—a work I originally released in 2006 and expanded into a double-disc experience for its 10-year anniversary in 2016. I began to ask myself: Is there more to explore in that soundscape? Could there be a continuation—not a sequel, but a new frontier?

At the time, I had also released a companion version of the suite: a more accessible, “radio edit” style reimagining called Singularities. It wasn’t just a shortened take—it was a different perspective. Like looking at a galaxy from another angle.

And now, Singularities has found its true home—as the next entry in a new, ever-evolving musical journey.

Welcome to Infinity

Infinity is more than a project. It’s a living archive. A space where reinterpretations and original compositions coexist. Ambient. Orchestral. Space-driven. Timeless. It has no definitive ending—only a series of unfolding volumes, each offering a glimpse into the same emotional cosmos from a different light.

Infinity Volume II – Singularities

This volume reintroduces the material from The Maestoso Interstellar Suite through a reframed lens: shortened, accessible, and arranged to stand on its own as individual pieces. If the Suite was a continuous voyage, Singularities is the constellation map—each track a star with its own identity, orbiting the same emotional core.

Originally created as an alternate listening experience, this version of Singularities now shines as a fully realized volume within Infinity. It respects its source material while offering something more focused—more immediate—without losing depth.

The Infinity series continues to grow. Each volume refines, reimagines, or reaches beyond what came before. And there’s more to come:

With each step, I revisit and reshape ideas I once thought complete. And with every new piece, I get closer to the sound I’ve always heard in my head—now finally possible with the tools I have today.

Maybe it’s unconventional. Maybe it’s a little obsessive.

𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗮 is the first 𝗦𝘃𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗺 album recorded in studio.
This music project for meditation, relaxation, healing and inner jouney has been shared by João Sousa in live sessions for different audiences in different places.

Svayam is the reflection of an inner search, a journey from the abstraction of the senses to the celebration of the union between body and mind, and what lies beyond. His music echoes for union and equality of all beings.
The title of this work is Casa (Home), because inside of it exists many houses, many changes of earth, water, fire and air. In here, you can find different concepts of home, of body, of a place where there is no separations between the One and the Whole .
Casa lies in a timeless idea of ​​home, an intimate and safe space that we can access by simply closing the eyes, taking a deep breath, reaching a universal place and a desire to be the home.
Here and now.
In search of the Self, every place is home. ॐ ☮

𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗮 é o primeiro álbum de 𝗦𝘃𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗺 gravado em estúdio.
Este projecto de música para meditação, relaxamento, cura e viagem interior tem sido partilhado por João Sousa em sessões ao vivo para diferentes públicos em diversos lugares.

Svayam é o reflexo de uma busca interior, uma viagem desde a abstracção dos sentidos até à celebração da união do corpo com a mente, e o que há para além disso. Na sua música ecoa a união e igualdade de tod@s os seres.
O título deste trabalho é Casa, porque dentro dele habitam muitas casas, muitas mudanças de terra, de água, de fogo e de ar. Aqui estão presentes diferentes noções de casa, de corpo, daquele lugar onde não existe Um separado do Todo.
Casa reside numa ideia intemporal de lar, um espaço íntimo e seguro a que podemos aceder com um simples fechar de olhos, uma respiração profunda, chegando a um lugar universal e uma vontade de Ser a Casa. Aqui e agora.
Em busca do Ser, todo o lugar é casa. ॐ ☮

I Can't Get You Off of My Mind

Relaxing music and sleep (pls go and watch the video)

This is the result of yet another jam session with Maxim Lichtenwald (@maxim-lichtenwald) and Leo Cuznetov. As per usual, the jam session took several hours, and we experimented with many sounds, settings and ideas. This time, we used several pre-recorded samples by ourselves and also two jam sessions by other artists, which we incorporated into our jam session and can be heard in the second half of this track:

We recorded the result of this jam session in Audacity, which was used in post-production to extract the best parts from that jam session in order to create this track. As always, only basic audio editing techniques like simple crossfades were used. Only a touch of soft limiting was applied, no elaborate approaches like mastering were used whatsoever. Thus, the result is raw and highly dynamic in nature, so put on your favourite headphones and turn up that volume knob, because the Loudness War is for losers!
