This week on Topshelf we’re proud to bring you the Italo sounds of Dutch DJ/Producer Doctr.

Having an array of EP’s and singles to his name from 2011, in 2015 Doctr found his rhythm and the italo started flowing out of him with the 3 singles ‘Albatros’, ‘The Battle of The Inhabited Planets of The Universe’ & ‘The Master’s Grand Design’ Singles all dropping that year.
He hasn’t looked back since and has continued to smash out golden records for our enjoyment including his excellent ‘Planet Rave’ EP from 2019 and Last years ‘A Lover’s Paradise’.

Citizens Of Vice racks up release number Thirty Two and for this EP we have the oh so excellent ‘Bonnie & Klein’. The greek duo will be familiar to fans of the label following a multitude of releases on like minded labels inc Music For Dreams, Leng and Nu Northern Soul.

‘Bourbon Street' is the release in question and features two new tracks ‘Bourbon Street' and 'Lobby Love'. Both tracks are beautifully constructed balearic delights. If you close your eyes and are of a certain age these could sonically transport you back to the late 80’s on a certain island.

On the remix front we have two of our favourite producers adding their own ideas to the OG’s. Coyote and Rayko who have both released and remixed on COV are back with their remix caps on and shake up the originals with their uniques flavours.

Birds is the musical project of East London based DJ, Katie Wilkinson. Her music is melting pot of techno, 90s acid, electro and goth-y 80’s EBM and New Wave. It brings together acid bass lines with post-punk style guitars and off kilter vocals to create something refreshingly original. She has released on labels such as Höga Nord, Ombra International, NEIN, Hard Fist and Samo Records and her releases have received support from the likes of Erol Alkan. She has also received a lot of love for for her captivating live sets. As a DJ, as well as through her music she exercises a never ending desire to explore sonic possibility and switch up genres continuously. Her sets reflect these curiosities and have an extremely transcendent nature to them; you never know whether you'll find yourself dancing to churning low tempo industrial techno, high tempo acid bass lines, Italo, experimental breaks or something far and between these things. Nothing is too weird or intense for a Birds DJ set. She has a monthly radio show on Netil Radio (the fourth Tuesday of the month 5pm-7pm), which is a residency that she's had for the past three years.

Victor has been DJing since 1996, playing in most clubs and raves from the mid 90's to 2010 in his native Brazil, contributing and spreading the electronic music culture locally.  Producing and releasing music for different labels under the name ROTCIV in 2005 and in 2008 launches Mister Mistery, a label focused on Acid, Disco, House, Electro and Edits with classic influences from 80s and 90s with a truly contemporary edge and unique sound.

Victor is frequently DJing at the most exciting clubs and parties since 201 - From Berghain's Panorama Bar, Lab.oratory, Säule and Kantine to Cocktail D' Amore, Renate, Else, About Blank, Pornceptual, Kater, Buttons, Schwuz, Ipse and many more, while also travelling often between Brazil and Europe with his dynamic carefully selected sound. 

ROTCIV currently releases original tracks, edits and remixes on labels like: Luv Shack, Permanent Vacation, Funnuvojere, Freeride Millenium, Full Pupp, Polari Records, Unterton (Ostgut Ton), Live At Robert Johnson, Ombra International, Gop Tun, his own Mister Mistery and many more to come in the next months.
