Tsunami Audio's third release ventures into dark halfstep DnB territory and features the mighty Cooh aka Ivan Shopov from Sofia, Bulgaria.  This man needs no introduction, he has countless releases out spanning not only DrumnBass, but also Dubstep (usually as Balkansky) and Techno/House (as Drum Kid).  He graces us with three forward-thinking DnB monsters on this EP, both 'Nedal' and 'Drub' representing usual Cooh styles going dark, bleak, and banging.  The third tune - 'Back' - shows us altogether a different side of Cooh, and is an example of the artistic range that we will be showcasing on all of our artist EPs.  Plenty here to rock the floor, and a bit of something different for good measure!

"Monsoon", on the other hand, adds a touch of Techno to the equation and reinforces the beat with some classic Breakbeat samples. Bringing back the old skool sounds we've been missing in the new generation of Dubstep, Requake spoils us with four thick slabs of stripped-down perfection on their debut Tsunami Audio release.  We start things off in fine style with 'Near Reality', a steppy dirtfunk monster, ready to melt your bassbins with its no-nonsense retro-wobble vibes.  Title track 'Fatality' brings a second helping of this hot mess to those craving more, but adds a more aggressive midbass section to the mix.  The sub sounds here literally ooze out of your speakers, it's like the bass blob has come to take over the world!  'Protagonist' interrupts the program with its funky, yet militant marching vibes, utilizing bare-minimum percussion, intense triplet hihat patterns and a huge, seriously skanked-out subbass line.  'Anti Social' keeps the vibe more subtle and dubwise with the help of some sexy sax riffs and a hint of melodic goodness, but - as always - doesn't fail to let the bass set the pace.  All over the place.  In typical Requake fashion.  For an encore, Mr.Boogie closes out the party with a bang on his 'Fatality Remix', using his trademark bassline science and funked-out percussion to exact some serious dancehall damage. Title track "Insane Citizen" starts us off in its off-the-wall pure-fiyah banger fashion, proving that the man from Moscow knows how to make innovative midrange bass that still rumbles with true subbass goodness underneath, setting him apart from so many Dubstep producers concentrating on midrange but neglecting the frequencies that really define the genre.  Next up are the rootsy party vibes of "Hold On" - this one works its magic by syncopating raw midbass into a proper stagger and then adding Reggae synth stabs and sampling into the mix.  The steppy wonkiness of "No Way" continues the madness, supplementing traditional midbass with what can only be described as a gigantic modulated dripping sound!  Placed on top of an enormous walking subbass foundation and a lazy half-step beat, the result is a laid-back but vicious and highly infectious banger.  Finally, "Too Deep To Go Back" takes us all the way into the deepest of spaces by mixing haunting vocal samples with demented sine tone manipulations and copious amounts of reverb to produce an epic, moving piece of alien music.&#13;

To get a dub license, you have to pass a test from the Dub License Board: Produce massive low-end and bring the filth!  Sunk have received their license with their debut EP and make their point from the get-go with title track "Dub License".  Halfstep power?  Check.  Distorted, filthy low-end?  Check.  Dub vibes?  Yessir!  "9th Clan", on the other hand, mixes filthy staggerstep vibes with emo strings; the result is a manic, epic tune for those wanting a 2-for-1 deep/jump-up concoction.  Meanwhile, "Adrenaline" comes in strong sounding the bombaclat alarm in full force, bringing pressure with more half-step mayhem.  Finishing things off in fine style, "Abis" perfectly blends pitched vocals, delicate percussion and pure dubwise melancholy.  All in all, the "Dub License EP" delivers a complete package with abundant good vibes from latest Tsunami addition Sunk!
