The Copenhagan-based DJ, producer  and founder of SWANA-focused club night Bukhar follows a prolific run of EPs in 2022 with two more cuts that blend propulsive club beats with percussion inspired by his Kurdish heritage. ‘QAAR A’ peppers its driving, four-to-the-floor techno beat with finger cymbals, darbuka drumming, mizmar-like melodic samples and vocal chops.

Mastered by Danish techno producer and Kulør-affiliate, Sugar, both tracks on ‘QAAR’ boast an irresistibly revved-up velocity. It’s no wonder the EP’s artwork takes visual cues from the drift-driving community in Amman, Jordan.

Speaking about the significance of incorporating Kurdish instrumentation into his music, Muskila says: “Kurds currently live under a tremendous amount of pressure. My aim with my music is to create more awareness around the Kurdish struggle for independence.

Clasico will be focused on cutting edge global club music, and was inspired by a series of label trips to North America in 2022 and the energy, community and friendships that we built there. The inaugural release on the label comes from Coffintexts, an ascendent Miami-based artist who has quickly become a key figure in the city’s current hotbed of club music talent.

A steady stream of releases across the last few years, both solo and collaborating with the likes of INVT and Jonny from Space, have seen Peruvian-American artist Coffintexts emerge as one of the most exciting new names in contemporary club music, with DJ support coming from Pearson Sound, Dixon, Charlotte de Witte, Volvox, Eclair Fifi, Nick Leon, Florentino and more.

As well as contributing to compilations from the likes of Femme Culture, Coffintexts was behind one of the stand-out tracks on Danny Daze’s scene-setting Homecore! Miami All Stars compilation last October, and recently performed her first Boiler Room and Keep Hush streams, on top of recent festival appearances at Okeechobee, III Points and more. Press-wise, she’s had glowing write-ups in Resident Advisor, DJ Mag, Mixmag, Crack, Untitled 909 and more.

Driven by flawless percussion throughout and punctuated by her own vocal hooks that stay with you from the first listen, Touch is a perfect summation of what makes Coffintexts so special. Opening track ‘Ur Body So Smooth’ feels like the perfect intersection between contemporary Miami, classic UK Funky and mid-2000s US house, with vocals from collaborator Gaby G. Title track ‘Touch’ takes things harder with big 909 hats over a warehouse bassline, while ‘Toxic’ hones in on the hypnotic combination of voice and percussion which has felt like a trademark of previous Coffintexts releases. Finally, ‘Activo’ slows things down for a Latin percussion workout, heavy on atmosphere and automation.

We had to start the year on a high note and it could only be with the long-awaited debut EP of the Venezuelan nene WOST. Today we present ‘Miniteca Selvática’, three aggressive, intense and percussive cuts with an extremely catchy vocal manipulation that condenses very well the current state of the Sudaka electronics.

For the main track, an unprecedented Andean duo came together. Our protégé Entrañas collaborates with Kelvin Becerra, the boy born in San Cristóbal, for a propulsive Brazil tinged stomper.
