While touring with Punch Drunk in 1993, Any Questions? took the stage on the first night of The Interface Tour at the Four G's Hotel in Bethlehem, PA.  

Reviewer Thomas Linson wrote in Issue 4 of The Floating Fish newsletter, "...Any Questions? smash onto the scene and warp the minds of the many.  Ttam Troll was in excellent form that night, not to mention excellent shape, having consumed one live human leg with a side of caterpillars and bean-sprouts.  Operating on a full stomach, the Troll bore a grinny-grimace that resembled the cat after swallowing the fetus.  A real flare was set off on stage by the Troll, creating plenty of flare-doody and a gaseous stench that brought a churn to everyone's belly.  Then, when this was not enough, he set his rubber gloves a-burnin' and melted a baby's face, which added to the atmosphere intensely!"

We start off Floating Fish Studios Ttam Troll Plays Bass Week with one of my favorite early Any Questions? songs. This unrelenting aggressive track is full of angst about the human condition, a cynical view of society, and the youthful frustrations of trying to change it all. This song was written and recorded at Der Palast des Goldes in March 1990 and features two blistering bass solos.

After I wrote and sequenced the music for this track, MC2P4 joined me in the studio and we recorded several live takes with him adding keyboard accents and backing vocals as I screamed lead vocals and played live bass. The end result is a great mixture of cold synthesized sound with harsh human aggression that we've rarely matched since.

Rather than trying relay how I was feeling at the time I wrote the lyrics to this song, I'll simply share the words with you. My mental and emotional state will become quite apparent.

Floating Fish Studios/Any Questions? Interview

After the live debut of Dungeon Aire on New Year’s Eve 12/31/87, we rolled into 1988 by adding an additional guitar player, Kevin "Bart The Fart” Wilson, and changing our band name to This Mistress.  There was nothing to stop us.  

In order to help us get some gigs, we recorded a “cassette calling card”.  In true DIY fashion, we set up a boom box with a built-in mic and hit record.  Here is our cover version of Robert Plant - Moonlight In Samosa.  Saved from oblivion from a long lost tape.  The quality of this recording is very sub par but it highlights a more subtle and nuanced side of the band.  I hope you enjoy it!
