Nowhereness is a new underground dance show conceptualised and hosted by UKAEA and Ani Kcam, both DJs and producers, and longstanding consorts in the exploration of sonic reverence. The show focuses on mixes which attempt to evade a clear or consistent sense of place in both time and geography. Attention is drawn instead to the veneration of rhythm, noise and atmopshere, and the ways these are exalted in the globe's historic and contemporary rave and club scenes. The pair cover alternate months, sometimes sharing the hour with a guest.

This month Ani Kcam welcomes guest DJ Isora to share the hour. Isora studied violin for 10 years at the Conservatory of Music in Italy, leading her to discover that her vision of life cannot be considered the same without music. She as inspired by electronic and techo music after moving to Glasgow and really found her passion for DJing during lockdown. Her goal is to enable people to go beyond listening, to feel and live the experience of her mixes which centralise the raw magic of the kick drum. Her mix for Nowhereness starts at this point, marching through a ghetto techno journey of wonderfully gross lyrics and wild rhythms.

Vanity Productions is the solo moniker of Christian Stadsgaard, a crucial figure in the contemporary Nordic electronic and experimental music scenes. Standing at the helm of the label Posh Isolation with Loke Rahbek, Stadsgaard is responsible for one of the most consistent and compelling labels to both define and elaborate the many productive sides of the underground in the last decade.

As a performing and recording artist his work with Rahbek as Damien Dubrovnik was a critical project in the contemporary noise milieu. More recently his collaborative work with Jonas Rönnberg as The Empire Line has gained significant notoriety. However, it's as Vanity Productions that the full breadth of the emotive intensity of Stadsgaard's work is felt.

The day of the blizzard has arrived.
The music of Mystics drags us into a thunderstorm of syncopated rhythmic elements and electrical atmospheres. We can feel the rain flowing on our skins, the wind that violently pierces our bodies: the breath is missing, the raindrops are internal. The tension is present in an almost perennial way throughout the duration of this EP - it's more like a therapy.
AFN001 represents a declaration of intent, perfectly executed by Mystics. Already from the first release you can understand, in fact, what the label sets out: to explore the most melancholic and emotional corners of electronic music.
