“My intention for this mix, which I was invited to do, was to try and recreate the feeling of experiencing a psychedelic ceremony through the selection, sequencing and mixing of the music in the mix.

I, relatively recently left a life behind me that I had spent all of my life to progress and be accepted in.

The more successful I got, and the higher up I progressed in my career and followed this life that I thought was the answer to my problems, the more unhappy I seemed to be.

I’ve since chosen to leave this life, that on paper or from a distance, would appear to be the happy conclusion of years of hard work through study and reaping the financial rewards… a lovely house, a successful partner and two beautiful children, knowing that if I continued on this path, that as a family we would be financially worry free for life.

But I’m not a character on a piece of paper and the pain and trauma that I thought I’d cleverly managed to avoid dealing with, eventually caught up with me.

Once reality eventually caught up with me, or maybe I realised that I couldn’t run anymore I had to face my past.

I knew that it wasn’t going to be easy, but I honestly didn’t realise how difficult this journey was going to be.

I left a career that was giving me financial stability but at the same time mental and spiritual torture and retrained in facilitating trauma healing ceremonies via psychedelic plant medicines… Ayahuasca / Psilocybin.

I’m not a Shaman, I’ve not been trained in this particular aspect of life.  I never asked for it, I never expected it and even now I’m not even sure that I want it…. But for one reason or another the Spirit world contacted me. They have been teaching me about the universe, about energy and frequency and how through them I might eventually be able to heal myself and then others.

They recently revealed themselves to me, my ancestors were Druids (I’m irish) and that I come from a long line of healers.

Whether I expected this or not , whether I wanted this or not, or whether you believe me or not, I have no control over.

All I do know… and it’s something that I have battled and resisted until recently, I have a connection to the spirit world or rather it has a connection to me.

I’ve used songs (that are very sacred to me) that I have until now exclusively in the ceremonies that I facilitate along with electronic music to try and create a mix that (hopefully) not only sounds interesting but also has a frequency of healing.

Though the spirits of my ancestors I’ve been shown how to encode my own intentions in to the frequency of songs.

So instead of listing the track title and the artist as I normally would. I’ve listed the intention that I have  additionally encoded.

I believe in the power of the frequency of music to effect change.

The mix starts off slow and gentle and familiar then slowly and subtly the mood changes to one of perceptual distortion, until Pandora's Box is opened.

The music then slowly gets quite dark then very dark. But what I’ve learned through over 150 ceremonies is that there is no darkness without light and vice versa.
It’s only by going through the darkness that you can get to see the light.

The mix ends in a similar vein to which it starts, but the music at the end has an added healing quality.

It’s always good in the end…. in the end

This is my second guest mix for the Green Finger Collective

The first mix I did, a few weeks ago, "Love is The Message (Tears in The Rain Mix) was quite heavy and took probably the most energy, thought, rehearsing, discovery, re-selection, re-sequencing and re-mixing out of the 1000’s of mixes that I’ve ever done. But that mix had a very specific intention which is very personal to me.

So with this mix “Surfin the Groove - (More Reverb on the Dub Mix)” I just wanted to feel free, like I was a surfer riding the sonic waves.

By focusing on certain parts of the each song, my intention is to shine a light on the groove my sole focus is to then simply to surf that groove wave for as long as possible.

Slavik Dzyga (@slavik_dzyga aka Denys Chornomorets) is a Kyiv-based producer working in Indie Dance, Dark-Disco, and Italo genres. Denys has been producing music and performing live for the past four years, and his high skills are perfectly showcased on this debut EP.

Ubre Blanca (@ubreblanca) have been an inspiration to Slavik Dzyga for years and helped him to shape his production style into emotional Italo with catchy, tender melodies, yet maintaining a strong and dance floor-ready vibe.

Meet Stipa (@stipa-adoxa) – a moniker and a concept, created by Ukrainian musician Daria Maksymova. The creative process was always for Daria a coping mechanism: a way to escape reality and find a better place. Naturally, this way it’s possible to capture the moment, the feeling, a place, a certain experience forever and share it with those in need – like people of Ukraine, who struggle to find an escape from everyday wearies of war.

"My favourite part of parties has always been the morning. When the sun rises, glitter shines on smiling faces, and a sense of belonging and acceptance fills the air. It’s a fleeting moment of unconditional love, something so rare in life. " – shares Daria.

Welcome to the 11th episode of the series *Deep Visions*. This episode is very unique and special to me. I've invited the wonderful soul, Kieran aka johnycash2007. 
He starts off by speaking from the heart about his intention for this mix, which (in his words) is about connecting to ourselves, others and also other realms. He gave this mix the title: The Spirits Calling - Connection Mix.
I listened to this mix with my soul and my heart, I was floating from the first minute and my whole being just merged with this sound. This mix is the definition of what it sounds like when a soul expresses itself through music.

Trance Induced Music Making is Shelly Truman of Prolific Aesthetics and the label TTwinz. Shelly is  a prolific producer of music and visual media, scientist of sound. Ttwinz is her independent label. Shelly Truman is a producer and performer based in the US West Coast, from Port Townsend, Washington and Tonopah, Nevada. She creates electro, techno, with environmental soundscapes, drum and bass, ambient, synth, dark wave, electro-pop, and downtempo sound collages. Primarily a keyboardist, she also plays a variety of instruments, produces, mixes, and masters her own work. She uses environmental sounds, such as owls, orcas, coyotes, meticulously matches beats and sometimes lets things glitch out.
