Thumpy Dancy Bumpy

This year's Black Rock Hoe Down almost didn't happen for me. Thankfully due to moving up the Hoe Down to Wednesday this year I was able to play at what could be my favorite Hoe Down I've been to as well as hauling my ass off the playa on no sleep Thursday to trek back home to San Francisco and then travel all day Friday to northern Michigan. 

It was all worth it. Along with the usual array of generator, sound, fm transmitter issues. Nobody panicked but there are times when you look at people ready to let loose and only the monitors and 2 of the array of speakers are working (and none of the subwoofers) where you wonder if its going to come together. The generators, speakers and fm transmitter all commenced working around the same time and all of a sudden the Black Rock Hoe Down was in full effect. 

For me riding up and seeing the Mog in deep playa under the desert moon has always meant breaks. Big, badass, booty shaking breaks. It's a bit of a change from what I usually play these days. Hope you enjoy the nod to the past with current tracks.

One beautiful September Saturday in Ocean Beach, a Fundraiser of MOST EPIC PROPORTIONS occurred at Winston's.  When I showed up and saw all the amazing decorations that the Crew has been getting ready for Youtopia, plus the magical wings on the stage, I knew it was going to be an amazing fantastic night.  

It was so much FUN!!!!  

I played the sunset, when daytime turned to twilight turned to darkness.

Dear Monarch Crew, you have all my best wishes for a beautiful transformation and future!!!  You're a blessing to our Community, and we are so lucky your passion and skills take music, art, and community to the next level.  I have so many magical memories playing music for you, and dancing with you.
