Opening track Hoop Dreams gently patters into life as a comforting wall of sound builds beneath crisp percussion and a skittish bassline, its simplicity seductively luring you into its clutches before it totally immerses you in a unfolding mix of shifting melodies, competing vocal snippets and percussion that comes at you from every angle. Microweight follows a similarly weaving journey of evolution as layers ebb and ﬂow between triumph and thoughtful contemplation. 

With his ﬁrst single ʻMandyʼ coming 5th in Mixmags Big Tunes in April and with shows lined up at Glade, Dimensions and a supporting slot with Julio Bashmore, Blacksmif is set for an enthralling 2012.

Coke Weed X is a collaboration between brothers Brendan and Brian Costello, best known for their guitar playing (Brendan) and drumming (Brian) in Lawrence, Kansas indie rock bands Fourth Of July, the Dactyls and the Hips. Their debut is a headphone dialogue between siblings, an exploration of shared influences (Boards of Canada, Tortoise, Madlib) and an outlet for the progressive skills and immediacy of ideas that come from years of consistent playing. Coke Weed X's 'S/T' bursts with an effervescent presence, nice depth in the details and, throughout, a radiant and really fantastic vibe.

Zeds Dead have just released their brand new 5 song "Hot Sauce" EP via Diplo’s Mad Decent.The follow-up to last year’s Mad Decent EP, Victor, features 5 instrumental tracks that find the duo exploring more sonic territory with their music, further proving that they are one of the most versatile electronic groups around. From the opener, “Demons”, a nightmare inducing track with heavy, pulsating synths as well as keys and strings plucked straight from classic horror films to “Mr. Sub”, which displays a more minimalist approach from the duo with a bouncing bass and touches of space-disco synths and “Rave” a breakbeat monster that hits so fast they put in an audible breaths to remind listeners to take one themselves. This no hold barred approach to electronic music has posed Zeds Dead as one to keepan eye on in the year ahead.
