Thulani Mabena stage name "Cubique DJ" is an African Deep, Soulful & Afro-House producer and DJ. 
Hailing from a musical family, Thulani was highly influenced by his sister Geraldine (Rest in peace), his uncles and cousins who growing up were part of the church band and choir.

Date of birth 1992. Born & Raised in Middelburg Mpumalanga, South Africa.
Expresses Thoughts & Feelings Through The Inevitable World of Music. Evolving with the technology playing from the vinyl- era up to the digital- era. Treating every DJ Set and music production as a spiritual journey.

Thulani's music career began in the mid year 2005 At the age Of 13, when Hip Hop was still a huge part of his hometown's music scene. Started as a rapper, then a record producer.

With no success in the production of Hip Hop music, Thulani had to depart from his deep art. Two years later began doing his own house music productions under stage name DJ CB. Here and there he'd produce Hip Hop but mainly Dance music. Then later had to stop producing Hip Hop and focus on producing dance music. That's around the time his DJ career took place. In those days, if you were not a vinyl DJ getting a booking was not easy, let alone getting paid for a DJ booking.
Met with "Cuebur" who taught him more about music production and virtual DJing. Vinyl DJ skills were self-taught when an influential DJ from his hometown "DJ Ndaba" gave him his turntables & records for practice.

Thulani has also been a prolific remixer throughout his career remixing songs for artists locally and internationally.
Thulani is still doing a lot of remixing as it helps build and architect his production skills.

First record label to sign was "Mtoni Jikelele Entertainment" in 2007, a label that was owned Adv. Mtho Xulu who also happens to be his cousin that always loved music.
2011 Thulani then met a label owner "Jaguar Paw" who runs the label Deep Forest SA which pushed artists like Darque, Wishingsoul, Floss, Denny Dugg, Lele X, House Victims, Kaylow, Deep Xpressions, ChocolateBar to name a few.
Signed under the label and got recognised by other labels.

Released his debut album in 2014 "Alter Native" which did very well in terms of numbers. Sold in Musica stores all over South Africa (Musica stores and any other music stores that cell CD have since shutdown due to the internet).

His first single on the album titled "Low" is still making huge waves on radio, charts, tv charts and international dance charts after so many years.

His sophomore album came in to play early 2021, and dropped on the same day as his debut on the Lockdown House Party on Channel O.

Cubique DJ is a very musical artist and continues to inspire many that follow his journey.
