“Chop Time, No Friend” is a playful return to the Banku Music sound Mr Eazi pioneered and popularized with his early singles and mixtapes. “Chop Time, No Friend is a very common Ghanaian saying, something you will see written on the front or side of buses like God is Great,” Mr Eazi says. “It means when you are eating, you don’t think about anybody. You are just focused on your enjoyment.”
For Eazi, it’s a way to express how he doesn’t let haters distract him from enjoying the fruits of his success. “It is touching on how people chitchat on me, but I am still focused on my enjoyment,” Eazi says. “It is a declaration, a celebration of self. I am saying everything I touch turns to gold. You can’t trouble me.”

Ending the first quarter of the year on a high; Mr Eazi became one of only two African artists to perform at one of the music industry’s biggest festivals - Coachella. He now drops his first single of the year, an ode to his love interest titled “Supernova”. The track is produced by Dre Skull & E Kelly and sees Eazi explain he can do no wrong but be the man of his woman’s dreams whilst also clothing her in the latest fashions from FashionNova.

Released independently through Eazi’s lucrative record label Banku Music; the star begins to venture into more than just music this year - aiming to become a powerhouse for independent artists as he announces three new additions to his initiative ‘Empawa’ - distribution, publishing and live event services.

The launch of these services will take place next month (July), the distribution branch of Empawa will focus on providing label services to indie African artists and labels as well as becoming the new home for Eazi’s entire catalogue of music.

Empawa Publishing will focus on the new wave of producers coming up within Africa which Eazi will also be transferring his own publishing to. Lastly ‘Empawa Live’ will allow artists scouted through this initiative to perform at coveted events such as; one of London’s biggest Afrobeats festivals, “Party in the Park” (in conjunction with Akwaaba UK). As well as Detty Rave 3 and Mr Eazi’s Soundsystem block party both taking place across Africa.

Launched last year (2018), the accelerator program has one simple mission, to uncover independent, emerging, talented artists and provide them with the resources and exposure to launch their own careers.

By partnering up with iconic figures in the music scene, Eazi intends to equip the artists with the tools, in-depth industry knowledge, network contacts and the funds to enable candidates to not only achieve their full potential but to also give them the independence to become music entrepreneurs.

Empawa will soon be opening its doors to young hopefuls within the UK in partnership with Link Up TV, scouting the next best stars of tomorrow but for now catch Mr Eazi doing what he knows best continuing his North American tour before returning to his second home, the UK for headline shows in Manchester, Birmingham and London’s O2 Academy Brixton!

Afropop superstar MR EAZI teams with talent from his emPawa Africa mentorship program to drop One Day You Will Understand,  a set of melodic, emotive Afrocentric tunes. The four-track EP, MR EAZI’s first new project since 2018’s acclaimed Life is Eazi, Vol. 2 - Lagos To London, features collaborations with MIKEL, an alum of last year’s inaugural #emPawa100 class, who co-wrote the lead single “I No Give Up On You”; C NATTY, of emPawa’s freshly minted #emPawa30 class, who appears on “Baby This Your Body Na Gòbe Fine Fine Sweet Òkpéke”; and Ghanaian highlife star KING PROMISE, a client of emPawa’s new digital distribution arm, who adds his dulcet tones to the opening track “Baby I’m Jealous,” produced by fellow Ghanaian and emPawa producer, GUILTYBEATZ. 

To emphasize the group effort, Eazi is releasing the project not under his own name but as EMPAWA AFRICA & MR EAZI. In addition to GUILTYBEATZ — who recently issued his debut EP, Different, via Banku Music/emPawa Africa — the project features production from an all-star team of Africa’s top producers including BLAQ JERZEE, NONSO AMADI, and LEGENDURY BEATZ.

At a very early age Roger (Mitch) Mitchell), the first of three children started showing signs of artistic talent. whether he was drawing some comic book heroes or real life images or singing at church with the choir, it was clear from then where his path would be in life. His birthday gift at the age of 8 was an acoustic guitar and having a music Loving father (Clervis Mitchell) was even better. He taught him the basics and that’s all he needed because “mitch” had an ear for music so he didn’t need to kno the name of chords to play the guitar, you see he has the ability play what’s in his head without knowledge of what keys to touch. 
“besides going to church on Sundays me my brother and sister would attend television and radio programmes for kids and by age of 10 I wrote my first song”. And by the time he was a teenager he was entering singing contests and although he may not have won the first few by himself, he would eventually. 
A lover of sports he was a member of both the volleyball and basket ball teams at KINGSTON TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL, where the volleyball team gave the school some popularity by wining trophies after trophies . it was the evening after another successful volleyball tournament while heading home on a bus happilly sing but quietly to himself or so he thought, a lady heard his voice and ask him if he would like to be a part of a group and there began the next chapter in his life.
The group did not know about harmonies except for MITCH so he was given the task to teach them and so he did. We started doing cabaret at hotels just to improve on our craft and after few years we entered a talent contest and came 2nd . we began to draw the interest of producers and popuplar artistes and within a few years later had our first hit and then another and another, “it was the best years of my life”.
His time with ARP not only sharpened his vocal skills, but also cultivated his collaborative approach to music, one that is shared by great singers and producers alike. Although Mitch has moved on to a new chapter in life recording for the Gargamel Music label, he values the experience and continues in his persuit of a successful music career. 
Citing a diverse collection of vocal influences including, R. Kelly ,Akon, Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie, Babyface. Mitch is an accomplished artist who has worked with reggae musics heavyweight producers Sly and Robbie, Donovan Germaine, Don Corleon, Mickey Bennett, John john records, Payday music, and of course Buju Banton (Gargamel Music). Today, with a string of hot singles (f..k you girl, want no more, dj, give me a call, boom draw, these are the needs, never never) behind him, its clear that ARP was just the beginning.
