On the collage-like nature of the mix and a childhood-born sense of beauty — read his commentary:

“In my mixes, I often try to create a collage of dissimilar, contrasting, sometimes even opposing tracks. One condition of the collage approach is that the result should feel like a whole — all the elements blending into unexpected harmony.

A mix on a physical medium feels special to me. So, beyond the collage approach, I tried to reflect a few more bits of magic that matter to me in the art of DJing — the balance between the dance of the body and the dance of the mind, a sense of timelessness, and my own idea of beauty.

By the way, the artwork — a wildflower with thorns and spikes — is one of those things that shaped my sense of beauty as a kid. I used to believe they were planted by aliens.”
