Irish electro producing artist DeFeKT will supply the second Electronic Explorations 12″ release.

Electronic Explorations went from widely respected podcast to fledgling label in quite distinctive fashion last year, releasing an epic 61 track digital compilation canvassing electronic music which featured unreleased material from an impressive range of artists including AnD, Kowton, Old Apparatus, and Perc. Four of the contributions from that compilation by Δkkord, Kahn, Milanese and Ruckspin were subsequently included on the maiden Electronic Explorations vinyl release EE:V:001.

With Electronic Explorations founder Rob Booth fully engaged on A&R duties at Houndstooth, the label aspect has taken something of a back seat this year, though news has now arrived of their second 12″ release.

Whilst the first EE 12″ traversed the 130BPM plus bassier end of the spectrum, the label’s second vinyl release turns to electro with a four track EP from Dublin-based producer DeFeKT, who appeared on the aforementioned Electronic Explorations compilation with “Sunseq”. DeFeKT’s Transmuter EP will be Electronic Explorations first solo artist record, which follows the Irishman’s Switch EP released earlier this year on the Signal Code imprint, and his contribution to a Cultivated Electronics sampler which saw DeFeKT collaborate with Sync 24, alongside other productions from Gosub, Versalife and the ever-prolific Tadd Mullinix as J.T.C.

rus'me gets the remix treatment from Answer Code Request, Ben Sims & Pangaea. This is the first of two EPs featuring remixes of tracks from the Trus'me Planet 4 album. Answer Code Request takes Our Future into new territory with two outstanding mixes. Remix 1 moves things to a much more sinister & foreboding place. Tightening the feel & tension of the original with all the hallmarks of classic Berlin techno. Remix 2 winds up & coils the track into a searing workout of early 90's hardcore breakbeat. Ben Sims takes control of Ring Round Heart, pushing the tempo & creating a whole new urgency in the track. This is proper no nonsense heads down business & tight as you like. The mix builds excellently well & manages to produce an epic amount of feel and emotion, dropping in & out of the groove with a sneaky breakbeat & vocal dubs. Pangaea tackles one of the albums more esoteric tracks in The Unexplained. He manages to work a wonderfully intriguing steppers beat which drops from nowhere after the highly beguiling metronomic extended opening. The tracks are getting plenty of play & plaudits from likes of Ben UFO, DJ Deep, Bicep & Anthony Parasole.

Ape-X Records is the new label created by the people behind the Newcastle party of the same name. It debuts with a fantastic EP from mysterious spoken word musician Marske with production duties taken care of by esteemed North East artist and Ape-X label manager Man Power, plus remixes from Spencer Parker and Boxia. Ape-X has long been setting the benchmark for underground parties in Newcastle with intense atmospheres soundtracked by everyone from Amelie Lens to Andres, Robert Hood to Shanti Celeste.

Boss and cult Berlin favourite Spencer Parker reworks the track into six minutes of hard hitting and raw techno that will blow up the club. This is a powerful debut from the Ape-X label and a superb offering from Marske.

A member of popular techno trio Agents of Time, Italian artist @fedelemusic goes solo AF on his Turbo debut, "No Mercy for Beginners".
