Envisaging a trustworthy approach to sound, French DJ and producer Voiski has steadily built a name for himself in contemporary left-field dance music. He took a singular path in techno, oscillating between experimental projects and signature sound dance floor material. The Parisian brings his versatile skills together on the third installment of Dekmantel’s UFO series, serving up five completely different yet coherent sounding tracks. 

The beat lacking ambient synth jam 'Go To A Mountain' is a display of Voiski's ear for mesmerizing soundscapes, while the pulsating, Nintendocore fuelled 'Happy Piece' and the dark, bass-heavy 'Seriously No' are two peak-time beasts. On the B-side, 'Come Back' gives you a glimpse of what the future of techno sounds like, whereas 'Drama In the Futuristic Cabinet' echoes Hi Tech Soul gone breakbeat. rus'me gets the remix treatment from Answer Code Request, Ben Sims & Pangaea. This is the first of two EPs featuring remixes of tracks from the Trus'me Planet 4 album. Answer Code Request takes Our Future into new territory with two outstanding mixes. Remix 1 moves things to a much more sinister & foreboding place. Tightening the feel & tension of the original with all the hallmarks of classic Berlin techno. Remix 2 winds up & coils the track into a searing workout of early 90's hardcore breakbeat. Ben Sims takes control of Ring Round Heart, pushing the tempo & creating a whole new urgency in the track. This is proper no nonsense heads down business & tight as you like. The mix builds excellently well & manages to produce an epic amount of feel and emotion, dropping in & out of the groove with a sneaky breakbeat & vocal dubs. Pangaea tackles one of the albums more esoteric tracks in The Unexplained. He manages to work a wonderfully intriguing steppers beat which drops from nowhere after the highly beguiling metronomic extended opening. The tracks are getting plenty of play & plaudits from likes of Ben UFO, DJ Deep, Bicep & Anthony Parasole.

Radio Slave’s R-Time returns with three unreleased Fabrice Lig productions from the vaults spanning over two decades.

Scanning through his discography, Fabrice Lig’s reputation for producing some of house and techno’s most brilliant music is indisputable. R&S, Subject Detroit, Planet E, F-Communications, Versatile, KMS... these are only a handful of respected labels which the Belgian artist has released on. Lig now joins Matt Edwards’ prestigious vinyl reissue label with three never-released tracks showcasing a sound and style that have withstood the test of time.

‘The Meeting’ is the most recent track on the package, delivering glorious enveloping plucks over shining string chords before Lig’s signature funky melodies glide amidst jazzy cymbal rides.

On the flip, ‘Nebula 101’ is a retro minimal track recorded in 2015 featuring a wonky rhythm, Shruti synth bass and piercing Roland Sh101 stabs until the high octane ‘Noise Revolt’, which was recorded in 1995, concludes the package with thundering 909 drums, echoing snares and relentless Sh101 synths.

Joyce Muniz’ unique transatlantic tastes marry perfectly as she teams up with LA’s club queen, Kim Anh for a new release on Berlin’s Gigolo Records entitled Give Me The Taste.
Joyce Muniz has risen slowly but surely thanks to her tireless pursuit of excellence, savvy studio skills and killer DJ sets which have seen her hold down multiple radio residencies for Vienna’s FM4 and London’s Rinse FM. Remixes for Paul Simon, DJ Hell and Claptone, alongside collaboration projects with Namito, Hannah Holland, and Jazz crooner Louie Austin show Muniz is as multi-talented as she is razor sharp focused with more to come in 2019.

Both Muniz and Kim Anh have worked tirelessly in the underground to find parity and equality for women and the LGBTQ communities. Indeed, Anh is already established as a proficient producer, event curator and businesswoman; remixing Sam Sparro in 2012 and working with House royalty Eli Escobar, Roy Davis Jr, and JT Almon thereafter. This single marks the official beginnings of a fruitful collaborative experience.

Based deep within their shared love of all things classic and house, ‘Give Me The Taste’ remembers a time of endless possibility when finding a spot on the dance floor and grooving til sunrise was the ambition of every young girl completely enamored by House music. Pounding 909 kicks and skippy hats underpin the rubbery bassline which powers this homage to a simpler time forward. Anh provides the dark sexual overtone with her vocals, acidic touches and melodic nuance provide a classy sonic backdrop elevating the track beyond the obvious and into deeper, more refined waters.

Available in full vocal, dub and instrumental versions, ‘Give Me The Taste’ is an example of just how power House music can be.

Ape-X Records is the new label created by the people behind the Newcastle party of the same name. It debuts with a fantastic EP from mysterious spoken word musician Marske with production duties taken care of by esteemed North East artist and Ape-X label manager Man Power, plus remixes from Spencer Parker and Boxia. Ape-X has long been setting the benchmark for underground parties in Newcastle with intense atmospheres soundtracked by everyone from Amelie Lens to Andres, Robert Hood to Shanti Celeste.

Boss and cult Berlin favourite Spencer Parker reworks the track into six minutes of hard hitting and raw techno that will blow up the club. This is a powerful debut from the Ape-X label and a superb offering from Marske.

A member of popular techno trio Agents of Time, Italian artist @fedelemusic goes solo AF on his Turbo debut, "No Mercy for Beginners". 

Leading single here is "Vampire Electronics", a collaboration between Fedele's own two aliases. Mood dark electro, written to the tune of a horror film.
