Finally, some people have been calling closer “Starfall” a “magical ticket to Vocal Sample Heaven” and “a timeless all-inclusive ravecation from the cares of this workaday world." While we would never choose to word it that way, we concede that both descriptions are generally pretty accurate.  In these times of social isolation and uncertainty, we remind you that it’s vital your Restless Heart Syndrome not turn into Reckless Heart Syndrome. Curating their second release on the newly established independent imprint TAU, the Adana Twins are keen to support the best up-and-coming talent from a saturated DJ/Producer market. The second release showcases yet another rising star; Paris-based, Romanian born - BOg. BOg first broke onto the electronic music landscape after being signed to John Digweed’s ‘Bedrock Records’. 12-years down the line he’s released on Dixon’s Innervisions & Solomun’s Diynamic, BOg is a constant in the record bags of DJs across the globe. Drawing strong influences from bands and artists such as Depeche Mode, The Prodigy, Aphex Twin or The Chemical Brothers, BOg’s ‘Terra EP’ has an evident other-worldly feel. Innellea returns to TAU002 this time on remix duties, remixing ‘Terra’ and further cementing his position as a core artist on TAU. The B-side remix of ‘Jahar’ comes from Mathias Schober, chosen for the Adana Twins love his sound design and aesthetic, the producer delivers a remix rounding off the solid ‘Terra’ EP.

For its seventh release, Obscura - the thriving label of Italian trio Agents Of Time - returns to the compilation format to welcome exciting new talents and core label acts. 

‘East Coast’, the Agents Of Time track which opens the release, is at once tough and atmospheric, with delicate pads suspended above the rugged, syncopated rhythm. London Modular Alliance complete the A-side with an organic jam of bleeps, bass and crisp percussion. Next, Australian Jensen Interceptor contributes a fresh cut of rapid-fire electro which leads neatly into the sci-fi tones of ‘Welcome To My World’ by newcomer Golden Virgo. 

Following a full EP on Obscura earlier this year, Hiver is back with the elastic bassline and dreamy arpeggios of ‘Stasys’. Orbe, a remixer on Hiver’s EP, impresses with ‘Never Comes’, a similarly restrained and endlessly detailed journey through the depths. 

The final side is split between Laguna and Kris Wadsworth. The former tunnels further into the hypnotic side of Obscura’s sound whilst Wadsworth’s crunchy, Detroit techno ends the release on a high. With ‘From Sound To Silence 2’, Agents Of Time have compiled eight, stand-out tracks to explore the full range of their dancefloor sensibilities.

British “outsider-electronic duo“ Cowboy Rhythmbox return to Erol Alkan's Phantasy Sound with a  none-existing musical approach up to date from the cowboys Nathan Gregory Wilkins and Richard X themselves. As Detroit producer Sharif Laffrey took on remix duties for CR's 6AM Nathan and Richard remixed the remix of the track, expressing their appreciation of Sharif's work. The result of the remix remix, simply called Deviation Variation, falls into the category creative remarkableness. A lush yet bouncey bass line is equipped with sharp reverbing chords and blurry synths while partly implemented filter hi-hat rides and mono-alternating vocal-snippets are swaying from left to right. The remix reaches musical exellence once the disorted and echoing chord sequence makes its appearance adding a warm vitalness to the wild west Detroit-shooting.

Cowboy Rhythmbox's EP 6AM Cowboy is released on Phantasy Sound on April 10th, 2020.

Turbo Recordings was founded by Tiga in Montreal back in 1998. In addition to launching his own career, the label has been integral in the success of acts like Chromeo, Gesaffelstein, Duke Dumont and most recently, ANNA & Charlotte de Witte. Core talent includes ZZT (Tiga's collaboration with Zombie Nation), Jori Hulkkonen, BETON, Clouds, Harvard Bass, Pilo, Shaded, Dimitri Veimar and a host of new young producers in genres ranging from pure techno, electro, and house to pop. “We started out singing into plastic bags and shipping them to stores as quickly as possible. Later, we discovered that vinyl sounds way better when delivered by kayak. I learned so much the first few years…Now, as I look towards the future, I can envision music for poor people, sonic odors for the hearing impaired, even MP3s for women....Vroom, sucka!” says Tiga, the lyrical lampsman lighting the way down Dance Avenue.
