In December of 2022, with Turbo Recordings nearing the cusp of its 25th year, label Owner, Founder and Executive Vision Honcho Tiga sent out an urgent missive to friends and collaborators across the globe:

"SEND ME ONE AWESOME TRACK AND LETS GET RICH BABYCAKES. SEND ME FILLER AND YOUR PERSONAL CONTACT INFO GOES STRAIGHT INTO THE TURBO DISCORD SO YOU CAN ‘CONNECT' WITH OUR FANS.”

This brazen threat spoke to the hearts of some of dance music’s greatest talents, who within days gathered outside Tiga’s Montreal fortress carrying thumb drives bursting with melody, rhythm, and more than a little timbre. Now, after months of brutal attrition and line-crossing personal rejection, we are proud to present you with the very best of the best. 

While the mere mention of a label compilation is enough to get anyone’s imagination rock-hard, just consider some of the names involved. From legends like Soulwax (as 2manydjs), Matias Aguayo, Jori Hulkkonen, The Hacker, Seth Troxler, and Audion to modern masters like Cora Novoa, Disfreq, Nikki Nair, Fedele, Mathame (and many more), Turbo 25 spans soundscapery from the label’s rich past, rich present, and VR-heavy future. It stands as an unqualified triumph of networking, goodwill toward men, and Dropbox.

As Turbo Recordings joins the long-lived ranks of Northrop Grumman, the Carlyle Group, and HSBC Malta, this corporate anniversary presents an opportunity for reflection, a chance to bask in the refractory glow before the next 25 years of our label bring about Paradise on Earth. Maybe all of this culminates with every single Turbo artist ever DJing and dancing alongside world leaders and Web3 visionaries at the Hadron Collider main stage. Maybe it’s finally time to release Tiga and Manu Chao's reggaefied hip-house stomper, “Get Vertical.” Literally anything is possible.

b-phreak is a dj/producer from mainz (germany). he started with
djing about more than 26 years ago. his musical influences are wide spread, they reach from hip-hop and breakbeats to techno, funk, house, electro, punk. 
in the early 90's he also was a singer in a rock band. this brought him additionally aspects of musical inspirations.
He sharped his skills and the love for electronic music, while
working 7 years in a vinyl/cd shop.
his dj-sets are mainly hit with a own explosive mixture of breaks,
completed with kickin bass/house, where the groove and funkyness are defenetly not missing!
with his countless mash/ re-rubs that he produces beside his regular releases,
his dj-sets become a very exclusive character.
b-phreak already played his dj- sets worldwide in various clubs/ festivals!
Since october '99 he started his own event series named "sub-funk". this events held regulary in different locations. at those sub- funk events are attach importance
to a varity of styles and the rule is always: Urban music for open minded people.
The fusion of different styles are also reflecting his own productions, which are settled in the breaks/ bass music-sector. 
he was also one of the first german producers, who spread the german breaks sound to the world!
in 2021 he released his first successful album "sick mode“, that was released on toast & jam records! 
the album reflected many of his musical influences from breaks, bass, house, bass-house, hip-hop and funk,
and brought him a lot of support from the international breaks and bass house scene!
thru some years of good relations to the international breaks/ bass-house- scene it was possible for him, to release his own tracks on well known labels like:
eleven illeven rec., instant vibes, hot cakes rec., against the grain, punks!, gangsta house rec. electric station rec., bomb ass house rec.,toast & jam rec., ravesta rec., freakaboom, boombox (as slung groove), fat!, splank!, mofo, gene poole, westway, dead famous, lucky break, viper jive, ground level, dusted breaks, hard & hits, breaks r boss, kindcrime rec, royal one, pooty club, sub element rec., let's go! rec., juice rec., rump shaker rec., dogeatdog rec. and the berlin based label carepack. his tracks also appeared on div. compilations like chew the fat!- sessionns 2, more boom for ya box, idj mag pres.hexadecimal mix cd (nov.'08), disruptive beats (ground level), straight up breaks, r & b (rhythm and breaks) compilation 1, 3, 7, 23, klub breaks vol. 1 (klub kids records)
the reactions from the world wide music press are very positive. he appears on the playlists from well known djs like vigi, ali b., jay cunning, slyde, ben & lex, tayo, plump dj's, drumattic twins, hyper, soul of man, general midi, aquasky, elite force, leeroy thornhill (ex prodigy), krafty kuts, freestylers and also in the charts of english music mags: dj/idj, Jockey slut, mixmag, knowledge, mofo and coolcut radio- charts on kiss fm. he has also done a track (break 'ya self/ wipeout edit) for the video- game "wipeout pulse" on sony playstation 3/psp.
meanwhile he's one of germany's biggest breaks/ bass exports!!!

Turbo Recordings was founded by Tiga in Montreal back in 1998. In addition to launching his own career, the label has been integral in the success of acts like Chromeo, Gesaffelstein, Duke Dumont and most recently, ANNA & Charlotte de Witte. Core talent includes ZZT (Tiga's collaboration with Zombie Nation), Jori Hulkkonen, BETON, Clouds, Harvard Bass, Pilo, Shaded, Dimitri Veimar and a host of new young producers in genres ranging from pure techno, electro, and house to pop. The list of artists who have released music on the label is a veritable 'who's who' of top-level talent spanning a broad musical range, and this, along with a commitment to beautiful design, has earned the label respect in the industry and a cult following among fans. 

“We started out singing into plastic bags and shipping them to stores as quickly as possible. Later, we discovered that vinyl sounds way better when delivered by kayak. I learned so much the first few years…Now, as I look towards the future, I can envision music for poor people, sonic odors for the hearing impaired, even MP3s for women....Vroom, sucka!” says Tiga, the lyrical lampsman lighting the way down Dance Avenue.
