Earlier this year I had the honour of pulling together a club mix for the ever-wonderful Lockdown Radio crew.. This is the result, two hours of jackin club tracks slapped together haphazardly on two vinyl turntables and a mixer... head-nodding shenanigans for sure...

Djs Pareja has been integral in defining the new-school of South American techno, fostering what is now one of the most thriving scene's in the world. In 2015, the Argentinian duo graced Turbo with their Multimedia EP, a set of stripped-down ravey weapons. Radio Turbo 031 - Djs Pareja

Every time I get a new machine in the studio, it leads me to a new track. After getting my new Ecler 4.0 Dj-mixer, this last Xmas, it felt necessary to spend some time mixing and get more familiar with it. I eventually recorded this mix, live and loud at Karl Marx Boulevard Studios, using mostly vinyl and a few cds. It was Xmas and the end of an amazing intense year (2013), so I took the chance to put all of it together. Even though it is not meant to be "massi's best of 2013 mix", it does feature some of the tracks that have been essential to me over this past year and/or that I have enjoyed playing out. Yet it goes beyond that, in the sense that I have simply been playing all what came to my mind without any boundaries or special concepts behind. As such, it is more about the joy of mixing records. It is also a little present to all of you, my beloved followers out there. I thank you for your wonderful support and wish you all an amazing 2014! Love and see you on the dance-floors!!! M.

Captain Mustache

For episode 265 we have an electronic conductor who needs little introduction. 2020 send  his career into orbit with the release on Canadian label My Favorite Robot Records. The EP featured a song with Chicks On Speed and received recognition when the late Andrew Weatherall played it on his last radio show, a beautiful and sad recognition that contributed to the success of this release.

In the months following Captain Mustache continued to gain attention with subsequent releases. He collaborated with Play Paul on a 12" EP released on imprint Bordello A Parigi, and the song "Special Friend" garnered attention when Jennifer Cardini played it in a live stream for ARTE TV. He also released another EP titled "How Come U Know" on the label Electronic Emergencies, featuring collaborations with Adamski and Linda Lamb.

Captain Mustache's career reached new heights with a release on the legendary label KOMPAKT Records. The track "Everything" achieved instant success, receiving support from notable techno artists such as Adriatique and Mano Le Tough. He further solidified his presence in the industry with releases on labels like John Digweed's Bedrock Records and Helena Hauff’s Return To Disorder, as well as the release of his massive first LP titled "Tourbillon Nocturne" on Science Cult with appearances of heavy hitters dynArec, Dave Clarke, Cignol, K-1, and Hiroki Esashika. 

The year 2022 proved productive for Captain Mustache, with numerous releases, including collaborations with Chicks on Speed, The Advent, Popof, Davina, a split EP with dynArec on Acid Avengers, and remixes by legends like DMX Krew, Legowelt, and Scan 7. 

Excitingly, this year holds more releases and a new album on the horizon for Captain Mustache. This mix includes some of his upcoming releases on Systematic Recordings and Bordello A Parigi, and also some recent remixes of his album "Tourbillon Nocturne" with the aim of proposing something intense, a journey through different emotions, from acid house to electro, blending seamlessly with some of his latest favorites.

Turbo Recordings was founded by Tiga in Montreal back in 1998. In addition to launching his own career, the label has been integral in the success of acts like Chromeo, Gesaffelstein, Duke Dumont and most recently, ANNA & Charlotte de Witte. Core talent includes ZZT (Tiga's collaboration with Zombie Nation), Jori Hulkkonen, BETON, Clouds, Harvard Bass, Pilo, Shaded, Dimitri Veimar and a host of new young producers in genres ranging from pure techno, electro, and house to pop. The list of artists who have released music on the label is a veritable 'who's who' of top-level talent spanning a broad musical range, and this, along with a commitment to beautiful design, has earned the label respect in the industry and a cult following among fans. 

“We started out singing into plastic bags and shipping them to stores as quickly as possible. Later, we discovered that vinyl sounds way better when delivered by kayak. I learned so much the first few years…Now, as I look towards the future, I can envision music for poor people, sonic odors for the hearing impaired, even MP3s for women....Vroom, sucka!” says Tiga, the lyrical lampsman lighting the way down Dance Avenue.
