In the merry woods the bears began to dance. They hid beneath the glow of the moonlight atop the mountain side. The wind blew coarsely through the trees but that did not bother them, they were far too rugged and brave for such things to threaten their fun. No man would find them here, within the opening of the forest. They gathered and they danced, grunting and howling to the heavens up above. The sun would rise in a few hours but for now the jungle was theirs. 

Ess O Ess return with a flamboyant interpretation of house music. They deliver a sample laden jam which bounces and oozes with the fun associated with the season.

Hot off his comeback on Multi Culti, this latest EP for Turbo Recordings takes the hypnotic, progressive vibe and drives it a little bit harder, leaning into every snare with precise power, carefully administering tension over the duration of professionally-paced arrangements. Title-track ‘IFA,' already a weapon in the crates of Funke-friends like Rebolledo, Michael Mayer and Tiga, sounds like the kind of peak-time party power you'd expect those dudes to pull out in the darker hours of their deepest sets, when the soundtrack calls for more than basic, visceral limb-pumping, but full disorientation, actual mind-losing. ‘Robur' rolls out of that space with minimalistic-tribalism, sounding like a mental apocalyptic march, pushing forward with intractable force, an energy which eventually relents on ‘MZ,’ opening up dramatically with an epic chord progression that blooms into ecstatic, piano-house. Think ‘old-school baby,’ revisited with bittersweet self-awareness, taking us back to a place we know well, inspiring one last dance, accessing the naive rave-spirit all-too often forgotten in the ‘industry'. Finally, ‘Barkas’ recalls the tones and timbres from ‘In Relationen,’ reflecting an emotionally placid state, a sound of radiant clarity, the sound of an artist at peace with his place in the cosmos, balancing past and future, energy and stillness, mind and body.

@TheusMago is the alter ego of established Mexican producer Mateo González, responsible for dance music projects such as @bufirolas(Kitsuné/Discotexas), Sonido Fantasma (Turbo Recordings) and currently co-head of label @Durolabel. This new side of Mateo is a consequence to the urge of freely exploring and experimenting with a more post-industrial driven side.In 2015, Theus Mago released “Ritmo Extraterrestre” through french/german label Correspondant, earning support from big names such as Solomun, who included it in several of his 2015 presentations. Since it’s debut, Bufi’s side project has had a constant streak of releases in several labels around the globe, including tracks on Lumiere Noire, Turbo Recordings, La Dame Noire, My Favorite Robot and forthcoming (early 2018) on Ombra Intl.

This is another cracker to add to his already impressive back catalogue and one we're sure is going to be ripping up dancefloors for some time to come.

Loulou and Pollux aka the @luluxpo, founded @ParadiseChildrenRecords label in 2017, a DJ couple on the European club scene for almost 20 years. They release their 2nd EP in 2019 with “Ivo and Leo aka @Psycho-Weazel” - a duo based in the beautiful medieval city of Neuchâtel. At 23 years old, they are the new generation in the Swiss electronic scene, however, this is their fifth release already and shows great maturity.

“Ascensao Ao Outro Mundo” and “Marumba” are the two original tracks and illustrate the richness of their music: dark electro textures and Italian disco groove on one side, melodies fed by Latin American and African influences on the other. “Ascensao Ao Outro Mundo” with its long intro that plays on the nerves of the dance floor before exploding in fireworks beats, has for instance also inspired two remixes particularly relentless, by two old European electro wolves. The American-Berliner "Curses", and another Swiss duo "@InFlagranti". The latter take on “Ascensao Ao Outro Mundo” keeping the same hedonistic message of the original but adding their own signature disco twist to great effect.

Turbo Recordings was founded by Tiga in Montreal back in 1998. In addition to launching his own career, the label has been integral in the success of acts like Chromeo, Gesaffelstein, Duke Dumont and most recently, ANNA & Charlotte de Witte. Core talent includes ZZT (Tiga's collaboration with Zombie Nation), Jori Hulkkonen, BETON, Clouds, Harvard Bass, Pilo, Shaded, Dimitri Veimar and a host of new young producers in genres ranging from pure techno, electro, and house to pop. The list of artists who have released music on the label is a veritable 'who's who' of top-level talent spanning a broad musical range, and this, along with a commitment to beautiful design, has earned the label respect in the industry and a cult following among fans. 

“We started out singing into plastic bags and shipping them to stores as quickly as possible. Later, we discovered that vinyl sounds way better when delivered by kayak. I learned so much the first few years…Now, as I look towards the future, I can envision music for poor people, sonic odors for the hearing impaired, even MP3s for women....Vroom, sucka!” says Tiga, the lyrical lampsman lighting the way down Dance Avenue.
