Berlin’s https://soundcloud.com/saschafunkeofficial weighs in with a hard-hitting new four-tracker for Tiga’s label.

Hot off his comeback on Multi Culti, this latest EP for Turbo Recordings takes the hypnotic, progressive vibe and drives it a little bit harder, leaning into every snare with precise power, carefully administering tension over the duration of professionally-paced arrangements. Title-track ‘IFA,' already a weapon in the crates of Funke-friends like Rebolledo, Michael Mayer and Tiga, sounds like the kind of peak-time party power you'd expect those dudes to pull out in the darker hours of their deepest sets, when the soundtrack calls for more than basic, visceral limb-pumping, but full disorientation, actual mind-losing. ‘Robur' rolls out of that space with minimalistic-tribalism, sounding like a mental apocalyptic march, pushing forward with intractable force, an energy which eventually relents on ‘MZ,’ opening up dramatically with an epic chord progression that blooms into ecstatic, piano-house. Think ‘old-school baby,’ revisited with bittersweet self-awareness, taking us back to a place we know well, inspiring one last dance, accessing the naive rave-spirit all-too often forgotten in the ‘industry'. Finally, ‘Barkas’ recalls the tones and timbres from ‘In Relationen,’ reflecting an emotionally placid state, a sound of radiant clarity, the sound of an artist at peace with his place in the cosmos, balancing past and future, energy and stillness, mind and body.

With almost 30 years of releasing records under his belt, Dino Lenny has naturally built an incredible back catalogue of productions, remixes and collaborations. 

He’s worked with some of the biggest names in the business, yet his own productiaons retain a distinct, personal style that is all his own. 

With Camouflaged, Lenny drops polished, groovy dance music that will light up many floors this year. 

The original version rides a solid motorik beat, allowing for moody piano elements and a haunting vocal to take the track to another level. 

Lenny’s sense for drama and space is preserved on the Black and White mix, but with a straighter house groove aimed firmly at the late night dancers. 

Hafendisko regular Brynjolfur also adds his own interpretation of Camouflaged - a driving electronic workout with a filthy, mutating bassline and dramatic pads.

Hungarian label Secret Fusion serve up a sizzling package that features some of the scenes most vital artists with Marvin & Guy, Jenia Tarsol and bosses Secret Factory all remixing a SouveQ original. SouveQ is a long standing DJ and producer who has a string of successful collaborative projects under his belt and since this year has also been managing this label. He started his latest moniker as a live and production project in 2017 focusing on a synth laden, 80s influenced sound that draws on Nu wave, disco and techno. His fantastic lead single here is a slow but superbly heavy affair with percolating disco synths, gritty claps and searching pads that bring a futuristic feel. It is an arresting track that works on body and soul in equally excellent fashion. Marvin & Guy are Italian edit masters who are orchestrators of countless transcendent moments on labels like Life & Death and Permanent Vacation. Here they take the track to heavenly melodic territory with lush cosmic chords and a patient groove that sweeps you off your feet. Jenia Tarsol began an Ibiza residency alongside Guy Gerber‘s RUMORS that led to him featuring at Circoloco as well as other key European clubs, always laying down flawlessly executed sets. Now he raises his profile again with an edit that is full of tension, rubber bass and astral arps that get hands in the air. Last of all, label heads Secret Factory draw on all their years of know how to offer up their own sizzling and unique Cosmic remix. This is another brilliantly cosmic package from the ever more vital Secret Fusion label.

Exclusive Trading Places ft. The Golden Filter 'Submission (Moscoman Remix)'

Newly founded project Trading Places, consisting of long time friends and affiliates Moscoman, Max Pask and New Yorker Justin Strauss, is readying their first EP, 'Submission', on Throne of Blood this week. For the title track the trio teamed up with legendary artist duo The Golden Filter, who add their distinctive breathy and haunting vocals to the track supporting the general dark vibe of it. Disco Halal-founder and one third of Trading Places Moscoman took on remix duties for the EP's eponymous track and created a more than mental take of the track, whose changing synth chords push the cut's tension up over the course of its duration. As soon as Penelope's voice sets in 'Submission' is on its way to reach an ultimate darkly twisted climax that is supported by doubled beats and chords, both adding a vibe to the track one finds in sweaty underground clubs only. If this is the place to trade then any (electronic) music enthusiast should be in.

Trading Places' EP 'Submission' will be released on Thrones of Blood on November 22nd, 2019.

Exclusive Coma - Spiracles (Panthera Krause Remix)

Cologne based band Coma released its emotionally catchy mindset Voyage Voyage in late 2019 on the City Slang imprint. The ten-tracker not only stylistically covers a wide range of electronic music but – and more important – Marius Bubat and Georg Conrad precisely captured a collection of moods and sound conglomerations to interconnect them and create a stylistically confident album, which takes the listeners through different musical layers without even noticing it. Now, a good four months after the initial release of Voyage Voyage, the album or rather a small colllection of three tracks from the album, namely A-Train, Bits And Pieces and Spiracles, undergo the remix treatment from renowned artists of the electronic music scene. While Lauer and Julian Stetter reworked Bits And Pieces, Map.ache and Sau Poler revitalized A-Train and lastly Kino Todo and Riotvan co-label head Panthera Krause took on Spiracles. The latter and Leipzig-based creative focuses on the  disco-ish note of Spiracles and emphasizes it by adding a simple yet effective bass line and also pitching the vocals to then add piano chords creating an anthem full of happiness – a counterpart to current social trends and state of minds. 

Coma's Voyage Voyage Remixes will be released on City Slang on March 6th, 2020.

For our second release of the year, we welcome Hamburg pairing, Cosmo & Kramer. Appearing on the first edition of our ‘Solid(e) State’ various artists series last year, they provided us with the impressive and wholesome arpeggio roller ‘Last Government’.
A track that stayed firmly in our hearts and minds ever since, we just had to bring the guys back for a solo EP, full of Cosmo & Kramer goodness. Taking shape on Solide014, Cosmo & Kramer land with their ‘Bingo Fun’ EP, comprising three tracks laced with exuberant nu-disco energy.
The shimmering, bongo-led title track ‘Bingo Fun’ ignites with a sure glow of high-tempo, dancefloor spirit; a delectable feast of punchy kicks and crisp snares. Digging deep on ‚Really?’, Cosmo & Kramer’s emotive synth work takes hold, soaring with cinematic effect, before closing out with ‘Bonus Romance’. A bubbling end to the story, ‘Bonus Romance’ sees the spell of C&K cast via glistening melody and the harmonising of lush percussive elements.
A truly pleasurable addition to the Solide family, ‘Bingo Fun’ EP offers up a swirling dancefloor love affair, sure to conjure moments of warmth and togetherness that live far beyond the club.

Cosmo & Kramer - Bingo Fun

Turbo Recordings was founded by Tiga in Montreal back in 1998. In addition to launching his own career, the label has been integral in the success of acts like Chromeo, Gesaffelstein, Duke Dumont and most recently, ANNA & Charlotte de Witte. Core talent includes ZZT (Tiga's collaboration with Zombie Nation), Jori Hulkkonen, BETON, Clouds, Harvard Bass, Pilo, Shaded, Dimitri Veimar and a host of new young producers in genres ranging from pure techno, electro, and house to pop. The list of artists who have released music on the label is a veritable 'who's who' of top-level talent spanning a broad musical range, and this, along with a commitment to beautiful design, has earned the label respect in the industry and a cult following among fans. 

“We started out singing into plastic bags and shipping them to stores as quickly as possible. Later, we discovered that vinyl sounds way better when delivered by kayak. I learned so much the first few years…Now, as I look towards the future, I can envision music for poor people, sonic odors for the hearing impaired, even MP3s for women....Vroom, sucka!” says Tiga, the lyrical lampsman lighting the way down Dance Avenue.
