Jon Dixon has been a student of classical music since his teenage years, and brings a jazz sensibility to his techno. He is an Underground Resistance affiliate who has released music on cult labels like Planet E and is one of Detroit's most sought-after musicians, having performed with greats such as Amp Fiddler, Jeff Mills, Mike Banks, and Derrick May. His hi-tech sound is informed by time spent working with the late jazz icon Marcus Belgrave and comes on his own 4evr 4wrd as well as the likes of Nervous.

Sublime opener 'Layers To This' is perfectly indicative of his ageless fusion of jazz, techno, and Motor City magic. It's a mid-tempo cut with deep drums and busy synth lines that bring futuristic soul. As the drums march on, the percussion ramps up, and the drums become increasingly hypnotic, while the evolving synth work shines. 'Bridgehouse' is a brighter cut with nimble piano chord dancing over the tightly programmed but live-sounding drums. It's a life-affirming celebration with jazz energy and joyous melodies combining perfectly with the restless movement of the drums.

First remixers LA Synthesis, aka Carl Grant and Tony Gallagher, formed in South London in 1992 and became vital voices in the evolving techno sound of the time, in no small part thanks to their near-perfect debut album ‘Matrix Surfer’. They turn up the melodic brightness on 'Layers To This' with jittery broken beats and twitchy acid sounds all firing your synapses during a most interplanetary deep techno trip.

El Prevost heads up No Speakers - and the party of the same name - after more than 20 years in the underground, releasing across the house and techno spectrum and paving the way for the grime and garage crossover with his cult Linx Recordings label. Here, he transforms 'Bridgehouse' into a darker sound with tense synths twanging behind scattered chords. The push and pull between the two make for an alluring dance floor tension.

Gimme Some got remixed by Brian Ring. This Berlin based Irish guy is known for his unique style somewhere between house, disco and an euphoric touch of indie dance. With his interpretation of the original version by Jakob Mäder and JULIENT, Brian twists it into a dancefloor friendly and intelligent looped club track. Either for warmup in a cozy bar setting or a hot summer night, this one got vibes: organic disco inspired drums, looped vocal snippets and this reduced melody elements from the original Gimme Some. Star Creature really do have a remarkable knack for pulling lost gems from obscurity and introducing them to the modern day. This time around things are no different with a double hitting 7" bundle which showcases some of the rawest, bang the box meets funk from Chicago. A 4-track EP from Bay Area producer Mesmerist, who runs the label Dionysian Mysteries.
A brief transmission of auditory memoirs, the release captures moments of euphoria, tension, and reflection in equal measure.

“Boriqua Drip” kicks things off with a ravey, pumping break that gives way to a sassy acid riff at its core. “Festival Girlfriend” follows with wavey, optimistic energy — a track that nudges the listener upward into a cloud of warmth and new beginnings.

Next up, “All My Homies Negentropic” channels a Depeche Mode–style electronic drive with a post-punk edge, gritty yet melodic. The closer, “Tek 3000,” is the oddball of the bunch — a lust-fueled cut built around stripped-back trance elements and hypnotic, heady vocal stutters.

Brooklyn-based producer, DJ, and multi-instrumentalist Bad Colours returns with his fourth LP ‘Promise’ on Bastard Jazz. Fusing house, proto-techno, soul, hip-hop, and UK garage, the album pairs hypnotic club rhythms with moments of personal reflection, exploring vulnerability, desire, and transformation. Inspired equally by the energy of underground dancefloors and the quiet moments in between, ‘Promise’ is both dancefloor fuel and headphone therapy.
Musically, ‘Promise’ is a vibrant journey through Bad Colours’ genre-blurring world. The title track kicks things off with an up-tempo, harp-driven house groove featuring rising UK harpist Rachel Kitchlew, layered with ghostly female vocal snippets. ‘We Never Choose’, featuring Life On Planets, is a catchy, filtered floor-filler that alternates between rap and smooth, soulful vocals. ‘Moment of Silence’ spotlights Brooklyn’s Brandon Markell Holmes, whose emotive delivery soars over an intimate, late-night rhythm, while ‘Freaks’ enlists early-2000s Brooklyn dance-rap legends Ninjasonik for a bass-heavy chugger powered by their rapid-fire flow. ‘Nightcap’ rides a funky bassline and crisp percussion with vocals from longtime collaborator Jarv Dee, and ‘Home’ closes the record on a piano-led, MAW-inspired groove, with Bad Colours delivering his own intimate spoken-word poetry.
The project marks another evolution for London-born, Maryland-raised, Brooklyn-based artist Ibe Soliman, whose career has seen him DJ alongside James Murphy, Mark Ronson, and Q-Tip, produce for the mighty Kendrick Lamar and Faith Evans, and collaborate with Korean rap megastar Jay Park.

We’re thrilled (and a little emotional) to celebrate 10 years of MM Discos. For the occasion, we’ve put together a selection of over 30 tracks from a wide range of artists — some who’ve been with us since the very beginning, others who’ve shaped our sound, many we’ve long admired, and a few who are definitely going to make a lot of noise in the near future.
Talking about MM Discos inevitably takes us back to Erkstrasse 19 — the place where it all started to take shape. Our base camp, where those endless afterhour sessions took place, spinning records for hours on end, playing whatever the hell we felt like. Out of that chaos, the MM Discos identity was born. Herr. Gross, wherever you are, sorry for all the noise :P.
If there’s one word that defines everything we’ve done, it’s music. We’ve always run away from trends and genres to craft our own soundtrack — one where disco, house, techno, breaks, pop, dub, electro, african rhythms, synth and rock all coexist freely. Basically, whatever moved us at the time.
That’s always been the MM Discos way. Balearic? Maybe. But really, it’s more about freedom — no rules, no labels, just pure musical instinct. Over the years, we’ve released what we truly believe deserves to be heard, no matter the style, no matter the hype.
Staying true to that spirit, this anniversary release comes in three volumes — a proper “sonic tutti-frutti” that you simply won’t be able to escape.
In this first volume, we move through a spectrum of sounds — from laid-back mid-tempo grooves to more upbeat, house-driven rhythms infused with that unmistakable Balearic touch.

Star Creature and Giovanni Damico present a 3 x7s bundle. With over 40 vinyl releases over the past 15 years, there is a pretty good chance you’ve encountered a Giovanni Damico record at a club, in a record shop and probably even within your own DJ bag. The self-taught, multi-instrumentalist is a one-man disco band with an endless appetite for exploring underground funky sounds with genre-defying energy. In 2019, Damico found a home base with Star Creature and together they share an affinity for new takes on the classic sounds of Boogie, Synth Funk and Chicago House. The latest release collects several of the most in demand and out of print works over the past 5 years and reassembles them as 7”s for the first time. The set features a highlight of Giovanni’s styles including top shelf modern boogie, authentically primitive Chicago / Italo proto house and Nigerian via NYC disco bangers. This is a must-have set for upper crust selectors and connectors and will surely leave us all salivating until the next SC GD Collab Slab hits!

Fall In The Groove - Supreme Italo-Boogie 2-sider 7” double banger from the long out of print Fall In The Groove LP. The A Side gives us a slice of Psychedelic Boogie that is continentally agnostic - hard to tell if this cut is from the future or something that belongs on Brand New Wayo Volume 2. The B Side hits us with an Afro-Italo smacker that's already been known to fill floors from Orange County to Lyon, Salerno to Berlin, Tokyo to Rio. Housed in a replica 7" Jacket and ready for trouble.

The Power / Analog Session – Proper Chicago proto-house from Salerno. Damico is basically an honorary Chicago Native. “I don’t think he’s ever been to Chicago but he certainly has status on all sides of the City” says Tim Zawada. Outside of the first-gen Warehouse / Music Box / Power Plant attendees, Giovanni just seems to “get it” while expanding and innovating. That perfect blend of tracky Italo early drum machine bang the box type of proto house electro soul. For the first time on 7", Damico's epic ‘The Power’ gets an edit ready to be stuffed into your Tucker & Bloom and carted all over the world. B Side hits us with an insane wobbly analog proto-electro number perfect for dance floor exorcism exercises. 

Night Time - New School aspiring Nigerian boogie inspirations. Giovanni Damico strikes it hot again with his cult classic ‘Night Time’ inspired by Italians and Nigerians interpretations of the American disco and boogie scene of the late 70s and 80s. Damico pulls the band together for major vibes on Star Creature. "We put out the instrumental as a digital only bonus and I've been hit up almost weekly since asking for a proper vinyl release - doubles necessary to run it back” Says Tim.

Turbo Recordings was founded by Tiga in Montreal back in 1998. In addition to launching his own career, the label has been integral in the success of acts like Chromeo, Gesaffelstein, Duke Dumont and most recently, ANNA & Charlotte de Witte. Core talent includes ZZT (Tiga's collaboration with Zombie Nation), Jori Hulkkonen, BETON, Clouds, Harvard Bass, Pilo, Shaded, Dimitri Veimar and a host of new young producers in genres ranging from pure techno, electro, and house to pop. The list of artists who have released music on the label is a veritable 'who's who' of top-level talent spanning a broad musical range, and this, along with a commitment to beautiful design, has earned the label respect in the industry and a cult following among fans. 

“We started out singing into plastic bags and shipping them to stores as quickly as possible. Later, we discovered that vinyl sounds way better when delivered by kayak. I learned so much the first few years…Now, as I look towards the future, I can envision music for poor people, sonic odors for the hearing impaired, even MP3s for women....Vroom, sucka!” says Tiga, the lyrical lampsman lighting the way down Dance Avenue.
