I'm a sucker for anyone who combines a smooth  house groove with a funked-up acid lick, and Australian producer @sondrio has done a fine job of blending the two on his latest rolling, feisty cut. Some nice dusty live percussion samples and snatches of sax blasts combine with thick, pummelling, unrelenting bass to great effect.

New York producer @aimes has crafted a masterpiece in the form of his new album 'Let's Melt', full of chugging, synth juggernauts and spacey sounds. @itsyarni is an eclectically- minded producer from Sheffield who is best known for his electronic excursions on the likes of Nie Wieder Schlafen and Exploited, but of late he's been increasingly exploring life performance. Working along a trio of talented musicians on this rousing afrobeat cut, he cooks up a joyous romp of vibrant horns, propulsive drums and flightful flute melody that shows he's onto a very good thing indeed.

Australian-born DJ-producer Loods returns to his buddy Mall Grab's Steel City Dance Discs imprint for his third official release on the label, 'Steel City Dance Discs Volume 11'.

Ahead of the four-track EP's release on May 31, Loods has handed over the record's lead track 'Three Blocks' - a drifting, undulating and laid back house affair with a crisp drum arrangement and an encouraging melody.

There was a tension in the air as the crowd rose from their seats and watched as the ball raced quickly through the air and into the direction of the sun.

The sound of drums rattled and echoed in the arcade as they watched with eager intent to see if it might unleash the future. This was a crucial moment in the game, everything depended on the next few minutes and as the piano chimed triumphantly and the people looked on with hot expectation there was a wild sense that this might just be the start of something great.

Artem Xio knows how to make people dance. This much is very clear from the release of a new EP on Wax Ninja which seems destined for the late nights and sun kissed dancefloors of the world. A great EP packed with life and love.

PREMIERE: Artem Xio - Crucial Moment [Wax Ninja]

'The second release from Wax Ninja, a Moscow-based record shop turned label, is the long sought after gem cut by Artem Xio, a preeminent member of the local underground scene. Can't Stop Now is an EP for any DJ, perfect for a record bag in which music of all genres has its place. Each side reflects Xio's stages of formation, not only as a collector, DJ and artist, but primarily as a an educated listener with a sensitive ear.

The title track 'Can't Stop Now' was originally written in 2010, only to be revived 10 years later and become a house anthem driven by emotionally charged vocals. The dramatic opus that is Crucial Moment pleases with its Detroit-style anguish, while the 'U Took My Love', an ode to the electric organ, gives out an authentic Jersey house vibe. 'True School' was born out of an unreleased remix for the local rap group, whilst the EP’s final track 'Now U Know' takes you back to the beginning of noughties thanks to Cream Soda’s DnB rework. This EP is a true delight both for nostalgic old skool heads and those looking for the sounds by which we will remember today’s dance floors.

Wax Ninja is a record label from Moscow, Russia as well as a community of like-minded vinyl enthusiasts. There are three wax ninjas; the zealots of dance music with soul and history - Artem Xio, Nastya Foxxylove and Andrei MB4. They have dedicated their lives to carefully selecting the best records from all over the world for the record store they run.
