COHN is a London-born DJ/producer blending italo, house, hi-NRG, and trance with a fresh, modern edge. Starting in the UK’s drum & bass and dubstep scenes as a teen, he evolved into disco-driven sounds rooted in vintage European club culture. He’s co-founder of Butter Parties, a collective known for euphoric dancefloor vibes. Releases on Kitsuné, Mister T. Records or Bordello A Parigi highlight his playful yet refined style-arpeggiated synths, lush pads, crisp basslines. Recent EPs Kafka in the Sheets and Focus on Your Breath fuse retro spirit with modern club energy. Here'z yet another dope mixtape by the legendary Frankie Knuckles. I know I said this b4, but I like how Frankie transitioned musically when he moved back 2 NYC from Chi-Town. I prefer his NYC style because his style in Chicago was great but 2 many DJ'z played the same songs & when Frankie went back 2 NYC, he cultivated a style of House that only came from him. And all the other NYC DJ'z played their own way & somehow it seemed like there was a lot more music being distributed in NYC. But I must say that Chicago got their dose of rare Italian Disco that didn't get very far from the wallz of Chicago.

@kevin-over's new EP on Gerd's 4lux Black imprint is heady mish-mash of dusty grooves and thumping kicks. This cut pits crashing, distorted percussion against unsettling reversed chords and unintelligible vocal samples until - spoilers - a phat acid line barges its way in from nowhere.

Straight out of coastal Bordeaux, Laroze is back on Flux with another
collection of floor-focussed cuts. Joining him on remix duties this time is fellow Frenchman Kosme. 

Following on from FLUX002, Laroze’s style is typically packed with energy and verve, using the classic US house framework as a launch-pad to bring his sound to contemporary dance-floors across Europe.

The B-side, Kosme’s remix of You Better Give Up (Romy’s Floor Version) flips the original completely on its head, where glistening synth undulations drive the track forward with newly defined purpose. An extended break-down sees Kosme drop in nostalgic break-beats and a sombre string arrangement, before rolling back in. 

FLUX003 lands Spring 2018, 180 gram limited edition vinyl (no digital)with cover artwork from Laura Zhang.
